Thanks Kurt ol friend.
Nice to see you back on here.
I have all the non-human creatures painted now plus a few more items. Only have to wrap up the humans and I can call this one fini.
This is what came up when I googled "French Chickens" so that's all I can say. Luckily it showed rooster, hen and chicks from the same type. Mr Duck is of course, just Mr Duck and the Pup plays himself,at least on this show.
Reviewing this pic makes me cringe because of the blurriness.

Jerry et al.,
You guys here just quack me up... but you know what they say... birds of a feather...
I'm over on Aeroscale for now just building an airplane... when I get to the diorama part, as our ex-governor used to say "I'll be back"...
Great work BTW!

Thanks guys for staying with this project and for the comments,
Here is a smallish up date.
I am calling the lady of the house fini,
I finished her off by adding the frills under the ribbon on the hat.
I also began on the old cuss. He is an old retired soldier on half pay. Reminds me of somebody I know.
Still a work in progress. He began as a old man from the eastern front civilian set by MB.
I lost his pipe so he will have to be doing something else. Hmmmm.
I carved away the parts not needed and added putty.
More putty,
I have also been working on some 1/35 scale birds. That is some small stuff there.
Not very exciting subjects but the way the world news is right now this is just what I need. A bit of calm in the storm.
Anyway,that's where I'm at.

More please, Mr. Rutman? That Milliput is some cool stuff. The lapels look great. I remember you saying that you rolled it flat to simulate cloth. After reading that a few months back, I used a press I made previously for straightening a WC frame I warped when washing with "warm" water which was built using a piece of plexiglas, a flat metal plate with a threaded hole, an old CD, some washers including a spring washer, and a thumb screw. I can make flat, smooth, very thin sheets of putty. The threaded hole/thumbscrew set up allows thickness control and gives a very uniform thickness to the putty. Let the putty set up for a bit, carefully scrape it from the bottom CD, and position it while set but still pliable. Wanna see it?

Hi Jerry,
Thanks very much for posting your work in progress. It is really incredible to see - how you are able to coax such nuance out of little nuggets of putty! Of course that is a fine point compared to how you get the little people look so natural in their pose....man! The painting on the young lady looks great. Your willingness to try such a broad range of figures, age groups, gender, setting, era (and animals and birds!)...you sir are fearless and an inspiration!
Looking forward to the next episode of the JR show!
Cheers
Nick
