Love the finish Linus. Nicely done.

Small Progress Chris? You have accomplished a lot in short order. Looking good too.

Start image of Broncos A13, will be built as an "Early", the other one will be Crusading to Gazala as a "Late".
Still waiting for a resin engine deck to make it easier to fix some issues with the engine deck.

Don't know if I should start with all the little bits and pieces for the tracks or go for the large parts first.
The sprue cutters are getting restless ...

Going to be interesting watching the two builds going at the same time Robin.

Haven't decided on my build yet. Trying to do something no-one else is doing for some variety here, so first thoughts A13 and Valentine are taken, and the Conqueror too.

Maybe the AFV Club Churchill AVRE or Mark 3, or even the Meng Tortoise if that fits the parameters... I assume it will John, if the Sexton has been okayed.

Decisions, decisions

May I suggest:

or

assuming they hit the shops in time of course
I think Bronco have corrected/amended most or all of the issues with the first release of the A10.

So, in the process of painting the interior of the M10 Achilles - I lost the parts for the ammo rack on the left side of the hull. Tried looking for it but to no avail. It's a pretty big part I don't know how it got lost

In any case, I decided to shelf that project for now (until I know how to replace the part at least. I suck at scratch build). Can I enter this Chieftain instead? Here's my progress with it so far.

Here's my entry for the campaign. It's the AFV Centurion with an OOP Inside the Armour Mk.3 backdate set. I'm going to cheat a little bit as I still have some built friuls from a previous project that ended up in the bin, so there's practically no building left to do on those.

It's going to be built as a vehicle during the Suez Crisis. Something along these lines:

Good selection Robin, but I'm holding back until I see how the Gecko versions compare as I'm a bit partial to the idea of the interior on those.

Sorry to hear about the ready rack Nigel. Maybe it will turn up. The rack is not really that hard to build and the kit is incorrect anyway, in that it gives you two sets of AP rounds when the ones on the left should be HE. The racks are not that hard to make

Nice choice Benjamin.

Progress on the Chieftain. Built up fast cu it was Tamiya. Put it beside an As-90 I am working on for the trumpeter campaign.

Ohh thanks for the info and photos. The racks that I lost though are the ones inside the hull itself - on the sponsoons.

Even better - the Academy ones should not be used anyway. They give you the tube stowed M10 rounds, not the 17 pounder rounds which were stowed without any containers

The racks are even easier to make from styrene card as they are simply flat slabs with holes in them

I found it very easy to do, although I had to scratchbuild the rounds as there were no aftermarket available then (shows just how long ago the build was ):

If you are interested, I did a brief review of the build when I did mine years ago. It is still on my club's website

Build them all!!!

I would vote for the Achilles as I have never seen that kit built. I have had the others.

The Esci kit is now a rebox by Italeri and quite a good kit for its age from memory.

The Revell kit is the Matchbox Churchill AVRE reboxed. It is also a nice kit for its age although 1/76th scale not 1/72nd as Revell claim. It may pay to fix a weight inside the tank in case the bridge tips it forward.

Progress report. Experimented with tea leaves and gauze as camo net. Broke off the gun and bent the MG on the kit. At leas the camo net hides the gap and damage with the gun barrel. The MG itself is still warped but only upon closer inspection. Still not sure what kind of green to use on the kit - probably still using NATO green as on the AS-90. The color will change regardless when I start weathering the kit.

Paused work on the AS-90 and experimented with the paint and weathering I was planning to do with it on the Tamiya Chieftain.

Aaaand it was mess. Something went wrong with either with the Tamiya NATO green or AB when trying to clean up the green camo. Also, my oil dot filter which was supposed to hide the mistakes ended up opening a whole new can of worms. Put too much blue. Also the tracks look a bit too light. Need to go over the weathering. Oh, and I forgot the decals. Haha.

Well, here's my progress. Decals and detail painting next.

I don't know about a mess. It reminds me of a tank that been sitting through a very wet time in Europe. I was stationed in Northern Germany and it rain a lot and all of the paint on the vehicles were streaked and there were many that looked just like your AFV after the winter sitting in the assembly area.

I'm with Mark. It looks quite good in the pics.

Maybe a second round using just light brown tones will help ease out the blue if it bugs you. A satin top coat might blend/dull the streaks a little if you are game. Maybe test on some scrap card first

Some light brown would be good to dull down the rather black tone of the black areas. Black doesn't stay absolutely black for very long, especially if it isn't a glossy surface, light dust and dirt gets into the surface structure of the black and "bleaches" it. A satin coat will also help restore the dark gray of a matt "black" surface.

Thanks for the feedback Mark, Peter and Robin. Really appreciate it. I've actually cleaned the tank up quite a bit before taking those photos - the blue was all over the place earlier and it made several parts of the kit look quite unnatural. Before the oil dot filter, there was an uneven spread of acrylic paint when I tried painting on another layer of NATO green to soften up and touch up some rough edges caused by the NATO BLACK camo. Here's what she looked like before. At the very least, the messy streaking hid the paint job. I've applied a gloss coat to it now and put the decals. Getting a dull coat on it as soon as I restock on that as well
