Slowly moving ahead:
I had to switch from "Hellcat" to "Goldie" markings, because I messed up left hand side full size fenders. Goldie doesn't have those, but unfortunately I had already disposed correct drive sprockets for Goldie so I'll have to use what I have. Anyway easy build so far.
Very nice.

ONGOING BUILDS:
Mr. K, Awesomeness! It's great seeing a camouflaged Sherman tank. Fantastic work too on the jungle base work.
Nigel, Great job on your Russian Sherman. Love the big numbers on the turret.
Randall, Very nice work detailing the exterior of the T-34. "Otleachnaya Robota!"
Matthew, Your Panzer IV/F2 looks fantastic with all that P.E. detailing.
Shawn, The "Bomb" Sherman turned out great. Lucky crew to make it from D-day till the end intact.
Chris, Your British Sherman tank is progressing nicely. The stowage and decals look good.
Alex, Wonderful job on your snow camouflaged Sherman. Weathering looks very realistic.
Matt, Fine work on your Panzer IV/D. I like the paintwork.
Pasi, Nice looking early war Sherman. I like that strange marking on the barrel.
STARTED BUILDS:
Chuck, Good choice with the Panzer IV F(G). Good luck.
Michael, Enjoy the project on either the Firefly or Mk.1 Sherman.
Mark, Sorry you had to switch builds. The 105mm armed Sherman looks cool.
James, Can't go wrong with a classic Tamiya kit like the T-34. Have fun on it.
JMart, It's nice to see a Panzer IV Ausf. A being built.
Thank you, William (panzerman1). You already checked all work here.
I prepare the figures for the base. They are from Dragon.

Matt,
Nice finish on your Panzer IV Ausf D. The weathering looks great and I like how you kept it confined to areas that you expect to see it. Nice job.

@ Matt. Very nice paint job and weathering on your pz IV D.
My pz iv F2 is nearing build completion... Only (only?!) the painting and weathering to go.... Will post progress pics of the F2 this evening.
I'm thinking I might build the ancient Tamiya pz iv D in this campaign if time allows...
Cheers

More progress on the Italeri pz iv F2…
I didn’t have an appropriate spare Dragon jack so… (hmmm, I see I need to clean up some putty where the aerial sticks out of the hull...)
Didn’t have the spanner either so…
And this is the start-up shot of the Tamiya pz iv D
Not sure if I’ll get it finished by the deadline as the pz iv F2 is the priority, but here goes
Cheers

Started work on mine:
now its time to paint interior part visible through commanders hatch, before i continue adding more details. So far, great and very enjoyable kit. Instructions are funny at some places, however, nothing serious as long as you remember its Dragon. Got to get more of those panzer 3/4 family smart kits.

finished painting interior (calling this cavity interior is an overstatement). Not much of this is going to be visible tho.

Thought it was time for an update on my entry, Dragon's Sherman M4A3 105mm HVSS kit# 6354.
Here is a starboard photo of what has been done. I added the part number and date the turret was made. Seems one of the numbers has fallen off while I was taking photos. The date should read "11-44" not "1-44. One more minor things to correct before painting.
On the portside of the turret I added a serial number and on the transmission casing I added its manufacturers information.
I used the slide molded gun barrel because it came with rifling on the end where the metal barrel that also came with the kit did not.
The DS tracks that came with kit look wonderful, no flash or mold problems. You do had to glue on the guide horns but it was easy just a little time consuming. I haven't tried fitting them on yet so I hope they are long enough or worst to long.
Anyway that's all for now. Next photos should be final paint and decals before weathering. I am going with Okinawa 1945.

Mark, that Sherman looks great so farm cant wait to see it all finished up.
Mr. K - Those Marines look impressive!
Matthew - You have put in a lot of work with that kit, cant wait to see more.
I submitted the Mk III Canadian Sherman for this campaign, however, I did start on the M4A2 Marine version for this campaign as well. I just wrapped up the details on the tank 'Colorado' from the battle of Tarawa.

Looking great so far everyone! I got the bogie trucks together on my Asuka Firefly IC and have started on the lower hull.
One question as far as painting the tracks. The directions say to use lacquer paint, not enamel. How about Tamiya, does anyone know if that will work?
Thanks all and keep it up!
Michael

I'm building Eduard's M4A1, and it has Tasca/Asuka plastic parts. It has flexible tracks that are in two parts, I believe these are the same as in Tasca/Asuka kit.
I haven't used Tamiya's paints in a while, but at least Vallejo's acrylic primer and paints worked fine. So also Tamiya acrylics could work assuming the Firefly's tracks are same material.

Fellow modelers, great work being shown here. Lots of inspiration.
Mark, thanks for the constructive criticism on the MG length....a correction will be made.
Mr. K, excellent work painting the Marine figures.
Matt, fantastic finish on the Panzer IV Ausf.D. I like the overall weathering.
Matthew H., great job sculpting the crew figures' arms. Good luck
with the 2nd project. It's a classic kit!
Darius, good start to the Sherman build. I like the raised serial numbers.
Shawn, excellent job on the Colorado Sherman. I'm a big fan of lavishly marked tanks.

Update 4 on my Italeri 1/35 Panzer IV Ausf. F1.
I corrected the MG barrel length. Added missing details to the turret. I made hinge details, and scribed pin detail on the hatches. Added 3 missing bolts above the side view port. Also blanked off the back of the storage bin.
Missing vent separation was scribed in, and latch detail was added.
Added latch detail and made a lock.
Thanks for viewing. Good luck everyone with your projects. Bill

I believe that's towing cable and AA MG missing and then it's done.

Progress on the Asuka Firefly IC. I'm a little concerned about that cover where the bow machine gun used to be, but that's the way Asuka told me to install it, so there it is.

Hello!
I have primed and laid down a coat of Vallejo panzer dark grey on the Italeri panzer IV f2…
Wheels are also painted. Next up tracks, washes, decals and weathering. I need to decide if I'm going to add some dunkelgelb camo over the panzer dark grey... It will require a steady hand with the airbrush...
Cheers

Nice Panzer IVs above. Interesting to compare variants.
Meanwhile completed Sherman from Normandy invasion:
And as usual, two more photos are in
gallery.
Thanks for the campaign, it's always pleasure to build a Sherman.

Comments:
Mark, Thanks for the nice comments. Scratchbuilding, I believe, is the next step once you've progressed far enough in regular kit building. Just break it down into its basic shape and go from there.
Builds:
Pasi, Fantastic work weathering your Sherman.
Mark, Good start on your Firefly. Cool tank.
Darius, Your Panzer IV is shaping up nicely. Good luck with the tracks.
Matthew, Good base coat on your Panzer IV F2.
Completed:
Pasi, Wonderful finish on your Sherman. The weathering is UBER realistic.
Great work being done on this campaign. Good luck everyone with their projects.

Hello all,
I finished my workhorse.
It depicts a U.S. M4A1 75mm tank in Manus Island, Papua New Guinea, 1944.
Hope to see more finished kits on this campaign.
Best regards,
K.
