Looking really good – you knew somebody was going to ask about barnacles so it might as well be me! I have no idea, maybe subs didn’t attract them above the waterline?

Had it last Friday still recovering

Think i will build me one of the 1/35 Italeri S-Boat's

Out of the box with some aftermarket items so i wont have to scratch build too much .........and actually get a model done.

Yeah I know what you mean , I've got the s-100 [ stash ] and really want the 38 .
I'm sure you've seen Polishbrigade's twin sub flak build here . That grainy texture scares me as far as sanding vs detail loss .
You can't deny though that some of the shapeways offerings though are excellent subject matter .

Yes i iam following his build,
But he got white nylon plastic this is grainy .

The 1/35 S-boot stuff i like is the Frosted Extreme and ultra Detail,
(The matte translucent plastic that showcases incredibly fine and intricate details) not grainy ?

Congratulations Maarten although I’ll always regret not seeing it finished. I say this with the best of intentions - I hope you don’t sell the next one!

The person who bought it contacted me (last week) if I wanted to buy it back.
Because of sickness he could no longer work on it

so it is back and who knows we will start again in the future .

GREAT NEWS Maarten!
I'll def be following your progress.

So this beautiful project gets a sort of "Full Circle Odyssey" title attached to it now.
Hey, their loss, our gain

Thanks for this Maarten, very inspiring.

Dave

Maarten , I'll have to admit I was pretty sad when you sold this beautiful masterpiece and now I'm as equally elated that you're back on it !!!
Remember , " This isn't Vietnam , this is diorama building , we have rules " .
Get back to work son , miss you and your work !!!

Dave & Cheyenne thanks !

Great you guys are as happy as me ,
Despite the sad situation getting it back
c est la vie....... as the French say.

All ready got a new layer of light gray .
And stored in a dark corner of the attic so nothing than dust can touch it.
Not sure when i will start on it
