Thanks for the info Stefan. Pics of the engine are hard to come by so even a rudimentary 'looks like it should' basic engine is going to be guesswork. I do know some were used as static defences without engines.

Aloha All,
Nice work Bryan, and love the shirt!
Some progress on my part. the upper and lower are just dry fitted and the turret interior is mostly built up and has its shadow coat. I've also selected some of the stowage.
Happy Modeling,
Zon

Looking good, Zon! What will you use to paint the shell casings?

Thanks Zon.
I’m you are enjoying the M10 I just saw that Tamiya is releasing an Achilles with a nice looking crew set. Thought that might interest you.

Looking Good Bryan. Nice to see your wife has good taste.
Also nice to see Tamiya do the Achilles. I see it has the correct shell storage arrangement that AFV Club and Academy missed - they both used the M10 tubed stowage.
Welcome aboard Martin

Howdy Y'all
I was originally going to build an Anzio Annie that I stole from my little brother about 35 years ago. I was going to build it for him as a surprise. My brother passed away in November and you can understand I don't want to build it at this time.
I've decided to switch to a model I could build for a club contest. I just bought a 1/72 Dragon Elephant this weekend at the club swap meet. I'll build it with the link and length hard plastic tracks and use the vinyl tracks for the Unfished Builds campaign Dragon Elephant.
I'll build the Dunkelgelb scheme shown above. The model that I've started on is a camouflage scheme used on the Eastern front. I'll build the unstarted kit on the right.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Hello everyone!
Here's some progress on my project with Pz.Kpfw.V Ausf.A. I managed to assemble the Panther engine, which was quite detailed.
Here are photos.
For now that's all. Good luck in modeling.

Gaz: Thanks! Regarding the ammo, the tips are supposed to be black and the primer has a satin sheen, so I will probably just leave it at that. For the casings I have Vallejo Air Metallics Bright Brass that I think should work.
Bryan: Thanks for the heads up. I did not know about Tamiya releasing an Achilles. Will definitely keep an eye out for it. I really like the open top tank destroyers in general.
Kalin: excellent interior.
Martin: nice work on the PE.
Don: sorry to hear about your brother.
Happy Modeling,
Zon

Model painted with a coat of Olive Drab, followed by freehand airbrushed Desert Yellow camouflage pattern. I will mist it later with some spots of Dark Yellow to simulate sub bleached paints. Frame treated as above with engine painted with blue-grey colour. Let it dry well and I will assemble the parts and clear coat whole model.

Gaz, Zon, Peter, thanks for the positive comments. In recent times, Meng's models are at a very high level and work on them is a pleasure.

Thanks, Gaz, indeed it makes a nice job.
Meanwhile some detailing. I focused now on tools and other remaining details. The actual procedure of US tools paining was ordinarily dipping them in the Olive Drab paint bucket. While used paint coat was wearing off exposing underside original tools colours. Here is my interpretation: tools painted then coated with worn effect fluid then coated with Olive Drab. The latter one was partially removed after drying. Here is how it looks like. Some collateral damage will be fixed later.

Coming along very nicely Damian. The work look is very effective. It will add that bit more interest to the overall final finish.
