Angel,
Looking forward to more Soviet artillery, as well as your halftrack.
Scott,
Here‘s a tutorial (just scroll down a bit) by Gary Kato on how to post photos:

I hope that helps.

Here are my start photos...I was originally going to build a BRDM-2 but, probably influenced by the launchers campaign, I‘ve decided to do this one instead:
Since I‘m going full steam ahead on two other campaigns at the moment, it might take a while before this one gets going - same story as always.
Happy modeling!

pretty much done assembling the undercarriage and drive train on the Rubezh ASM:
Since this campaign is dedicated to Trumpeter I don't imagine I need to spend a lot of time singing the praises of the detail and fit of this kit. It is simply SO much better than the two other dogs I have on the bench at the moment. One nice thing is that this particular variant of the MAZ-543 chassis leaves a lot of the undercarriage detail exposed to view. A real shame to have to cover up the nice engine.
My main quandary at this point is deciding whether to use the kit tires or spring for the DEF Model resin replacements. The kit tires are certainly nice, but I hate to use vinyl parts for a number of reasons. on the other hand, the resin wheels cost half as much as I paid for the kit itself...

Just had my kit arrive for this a KV-2. Pictures to follow
Sorry for the rubbish pic, camera batteries died. I'll post better once I start building. Also still waiting on a RB barrel.

That looks nice, Pasi! Is that an older kit?

Hello all,
I am joining this campaign with Trumpeters Object 704. There was at least one of this Soviet SPH built and it is currently on display at the Kubinka tank museum.
I have been building a lot of Soviet AFV's lately and Im thinking about a different scheme from the green and/or white camo. I think this vehicle looks like something you might see in the old GI Joe series - SO I will be painting this in Cobra livery.

Ha ha! Maybe I'm showing my age, but when I hear "old GI Joe" I think Kung Fu grip, not Cobra.

I think it's quite new, scalemates says 2014 and there's small PE sheet with copyright 2013 so the 2014 is probably correct. Surface detail looks good and modern, but some small parts are bit rough.

So.. the bottom part of the hull is ready:
Nothing special - quick build and around 20 parts. Fitting pretty good.
Next stop - upper hull:

The first step is done.
The exhaust is the only improvement by me - I drilled them.

I had a lot of bench time during my holiday vacation and made some significant progress on my ongoing projects.
The Object 704 is ready for painting and was a very quick and easy build. Trumpeter kits might be soft on details at times, but I really appreciate their ease of assembly.

I'm calling this one done!
BTR-70 early in 1/72 scale.
I mostly used MIG, Vallejo and AK paints and other stuff.
Drilled the exhaust.
So I'm happy with this, not a hard and not a complex model.
See You in the next one
