This is a really Rad diorama story concept. Your build and paint skills are outstanding.

Jerry,
As always some incredible work you are showing us all; thank you for the inspiration of what can be done with 'homely' plastic figures.
If I may ask, any particular methods you employ for the great looking oak leaf pattern you're putting down?
Cheers,
Rick

Thanks Rick.
The pattern is made by painting the background first and then doing the highlites and low areas on it. I have found this is the best way to retain the cammo pattern. I then make the "islands" out of dark green along with the dark green spots in between the islands. I then add the bright green dots inside the islands and over top most of the dark spots. Lastly the dark green spots are added in the larger light green areas. Then highlights are added over the whole smock using the AK "global highlights" color. The very highest areas are accentuated with the global color with off white mixed in.
Hope that makes sense. I also have excellent refs on all this type of cammo. The helmet cover is different. they used different colors for those and a different pattern.

Here you go,
This is pretty much standard throughout Normandy. Bodged repairs are common, using string, wire, or anything suitable.

Jerry... been awhile since I've posted thanks to forgetting my password but I've been lurking in the shadows with your past few forum posts. Every time I see your work I'm still in awe with what you do. There are a lot of talented individuals on this site and within this hobby but I think many people here will agree that your work stands out as it is beyond impressive and unbelievably realistic in terms of detail. This goes for each of your builds. Each time I come to the site I look forward to clicking on the forums and seeing you've started a new thread. Ok enough with the a$$ kissing (really, it's hard to tell I'm a fan haha)

Thanks for the words of encouragement buddy It was a nice gift for me today to read this.
Nothing new for a while now because I have been awfully sick and am now battling pneumonia.
But I shall return to the fight another day!

Hope you’re taking medical advice Jerry, 15 years ago I thought I just had a bad cough for 3+ weeks until I cracked a rib - ended up in hospital on i/v antibio drip for several days having some unpleasant procedures to get rid of the pneumo - shoulda gone to a doctor in the first place. Get well soon
