You have a real knack for composition. Excellent use of the implied danger somewhere in the distance across the meadow. The running figures, their bent posture, their quick glances across the opening, all add to the sense of urgency and danger. Well done.

Thanks so much guys for the extremely generous praise. I always appreciate the effort it takes when you guys weigh in. Not much of that going on these days in life in general. Seriously.
I had fun building this one and learned a few things thankfully, like what cows are common in Normandy and the type of gates commonly used.
Thanks again guys,
J

Hi Jerry,
Your work is simply remarkable - almost unbelievable! I think we’re all lucky that you post the WIP drawings along the way - each of your logs is a great lesson for us, and an always open door for you to walk through to one great concept after another - wow!
Looking forward to whatever you take on next!
Cheers
Nick

Perfect Jerry , dam brilliantly beautiful . The build in itself is a jaw dropper but the addition of your backdrops just takes the beauty of your extremely detailed work and multiplies it by 100 !!!!!
Very , very , very cool !!!

Thanks Nick!
This is still the only forum that allows me to post a build log like the one you refer to. No other place has a forum anything like this.
I refer folks looking at my stuff on FB to look here for the build log. I don't know if anyone does so but it is available!

Thanks buddy. High praise coming from a gifted builder like yourself!
I am happy all the time I spent painting the backdrops is noticed plus I got to use them now for newer projects! Hahahaha because they sure took some time to make and tested my abilities more than you know!

Thanks Kuba!
Telling the story is the most important thing for me. I am a frustrated film maker! These dios are a substitute for story boards for me.
Thanks again man,

Awesome work as usual Jerry. Is there any chance you are going to enter any of your work in the Three Rivers IPMS TriCon in March? I actually took vacation so I could go. Great stuff here Jerry. I am amazed.

Jerry, you surpass yourself yet again.
Quite apart from the beautiful work on the figures and landscape, there is so much else besides: a sense of movement, action somewhere off the scene and a simple story.
The dud mortar rounds are probably my favourite touch.
Keep up the good work, keep fit and well - and I look forward to the next one.
Tim

Switch some of the pictures to black and white and work some magic in Photoshop and they'd probably pass as genuine photographs from the Normandy front-line.
Jerry: some more of your usual immaculate and inspirational work sir.

That settles it, my eyes are shot... Never saw that dud stuck in the ground. I would've tripped on it and set it off!💥 Thank's for the warning, Tim!
Cheers!🍺

Two Tims,Richard and Mike,
Thanks so much guys for the uplifting comments. Nice to read on another gloomy day here.
Richard,my buddy Andrew Argent turned one of these pics into a nice muted color pic ala 1940s agfa film style on FB. It is soooo cool looking but way beyond my meager computer skills to transfer over to here.
Thanks for writing guys,
J
