Hi gents,
It is with great regret that I think I have to bow out of this campaign build. Work and family committments have occupied me to the extent that I don't think I can get this JP done by the agreed deadline. Here she is as it is now;
Again, sincere apologies. Hope to try again another time.
Cheers,
Johanan

Well, having stretched myself with this campaign, specifically with scratch building interior details on an open top vehicle, I think I'm calling this TACAM R-2 by Special Armour, a wrap. This build allowed me to keep my hand in replacing grab handles, re-creating weld marks and work through frustration of not so good tracks. It's been a great campaign with so many entries that are most inspiring making any of my personal frustration worth it. Thanks to all who made this campaign a success.
While we are nearing the home stretch for this campaign, hang in there everyone.
Cheers!

I think I will join.
Counter all that heavy metal with something light and nimble, yet still deadly;
The inspiration is a photo from Exercise Team Spirit '86.
It'll be a fast build. Wife's out of town, weather's going to be poor, so.... I should be able to pull it off.

COMMENT CAFE:
David, thanks. Your Jagtiger looks terrific.
Norman, I'm glad you like my Hetzer. Thanks. I did the camo by hand following the Tamiya color profile.
Phil, Bravo!!! Your Stug turned out wonderfully.
Ernie, great job on your M10. Nice paintwork.
Lap Man, good progress on the Dodge M6.
Lap Man, great finish on the M6. Nice to see a softskin TD in the campaign.
Pasi, great finish on the Su-85. Love the weathering.
Sinsling, hope you finish, even if not for the campaign.
Chuck, wonderful job on your Romanian TD. Very cool subject.
Ron, not much time left. Good luck.
Down to the last days. Good luck everyone finishing your builds.

Final Reveal on the 1/48 Bandai Hetzer.
Last phase is weathering.
Added personal gear, ammo boxes, and even some fall leaves.
Added brace to drive train.
Final look at upper hull details.
Started overall weathering with a dark wash.
Next up was a light Buff drybrushing. Also added jack, pry bar, and antenna.
Then to even out the paintwork, I did a Khaki filter overall.
Lastly, I did spot chipping and some rust streaking.
Thanks for viewing. It was an honor to participate in this fun campaign. Good luck to everyone finishing their builds.

Bill, are you sure that's only 1:48 scale? Looks more like 1:16 with all that excellent detail!

@ William; That Hetzer looks awesome!! Really well done.
One of the benefits of building something small from Tamiya:
All the sub assemblies are done.
Painting time!

OK guys, after 5 weeks on my butt with COVID I looked at the campaign page and realized it was either finish today, or don't finish due to up coming work requirements. Not my best work, and I will tidy some things up, but I'm calling this one done.

Thank you, selective photo angles maybe? In any case I want to add a couple figures at a minimum. Again, thank you

@ Guy; I can not find much wrong with your StuG, so if this is not up to your usual standards, I'd like to see what is!
As for my M151A2, it was part of a Blitzbuild, meaning it had to be completed with 24hrs, either straight up or in sections. I did mine in 2x12.
Started saturday 2020-08-29 at 08:44 local time and by 12:56 I ended up with what I showed in my previous post.
By 19:08 (yes, we had to keep track of time) I made my next photo stop.
Tamiya has missed opening up the very noticeable holes in the hubs, so these had to be drilled.
During the airbrushing my compressor broke down. The pressure regulator quit on me and the whole thing would only go full throttle! So I had to "manage" the pressure by turning the blasted thing on and off.... which makes for less then optimal spraying conditions. And that showed...

In order to hide the mishap on the hood I decided to create a windshield cover. I saw those being used on the reference pictures. Made one using the tissue&glue method, but the tissue dried up really wrinkly this time?
Also changed the colour on one of the wheels, just to break the uniformity.
The figure was completed with personal gear like ammo pouches, gasmask bag and canteen, but still needed to fit the Mutt.
The compressor at times had so much pressure that it blew about the smaller parts or the paint off of the plastic while spraying! In this case the TOW missiles.
16:57
The chaos increases.
And the figure has been painted basically. Still some details to finish. I find it very hard to create a credible and convincing woodlands pattern and I think I chose some wrong colours for that too.
The mutt is coming together. The first batch of decals is in place and I added 2 rags over the headlights as makeshift field camouflage. Some reference pictures show this in practice.
The batteries in the clock gave up too.
21:12
I made it! With 24hrs (2x12) I "finished" this build. On the pictures I see that I need to do some touch ups, like the sloppy painting of the "tape" on the left side. And placing an antenna.... But in general it is done. It was a great challenge, but one that I will not accept anymore. It is not my style, rushes me too much and takes away the relaxing aspect, kills the fun a bit, too.
I kept the wear and tear to a bare minimum, because of the time limit and added the Team Orange marking on the back of the seats, where some spraying mishaps were all to visible. I also added his personal gear and a box of MRE's.
It was a challenge, but one I will accept anymore. It seriously hampers my style, taking care of details and was a bit of a funkiller too, because of the pressure, voluntarily though it was, diminished the fun and relaxation.

@Guy - if that's "not my best" then I really need to up my game! . Great work on that StuG.
@Ron - you've really had a fight with technology! But the results look good, even if you can't tell what time it is anymore - but at least the dead clock is right twice a day... I hear ya on the fun-sucking problem of rushing a build - that's why I only finish about half of the campaigns I sign up to. Sometimes I don't even get started! But it's a hobby, so anything that isn't finished in time just gets done later, to a standard that makes me happy. And if it does get done in time so much the better!

Yeah. And looking at the Mutt by daylight makes that I am not satisfied either.
I will do more work on it before it ends up in the gallery here.

Its looking good. Rode in one of those for many years, minus the TOW missles, nice work.

I was not entirely happy with the result of the Blitzbuild, so I gave it some more attention and made some final adjustments. Now I consider it done.
I gave it some washes in grey and browns and added dark brown pastels to it, so it would look more used.

Nice work Ron, I especially like the weathering around the tires and wheel wells.
