Good job, Alex!

Bruce, that's a bad-ass paint scheme!

Looks great Colin. I built this one a few years back and enjoyed it.

If i may, i would like to submit this Verlinden V-100 armoured car that i finally received here in the UK and which took over a month to get here care of the USPS and Covid-19.

The kit is unstarted as you can see in the picture and i have put in the background today's newspaper as my start date (although i wont actually be able to start it until the weekend)

First masks on (dark grey) and 2nd grey (Sky Grey) painted. Still struggling with thinning BUT The AK paints seem to be a bit more forgiving. I know I will have some bleeders cos the 3mm masks are very small and struggle on some of the finer details.

OK, so i last worked on an all resin vehicle kit about ten years ago and it was a nightmare (the jaguar M551 Sheridan)and against my better judgement i have returned to this medium for another crack of the whip this time with the Verlinden 1/35 scale V-100 Patrol car.

i have done some basic work and in the picture below you can see i have removed the casting blocks for the wheels, two of the wheel rims are damaged but i am sure i can fix that with some stretched sprue or i might have some thin pieces of evergreen lying around somewhere.

The casting is of good quality and there doesn't seem to be any air bubbles but i feel that the .30 cal machine guns are a little weak on detail, does anyone know where i can get some replacements?

anyway here is tonight's progress picture:

Good start Rob.

Robin gave some good advice on this forum about overcoming bleed. Once the masks are in place, spray the same masked colour on the edge of the mask before spraying the next camo colour. That way, if there is any bleed, it is the same colour that is masked. I have done it twice now, latest on the Caunter scheme for my Bronco A 9 in the Bronco Group build. It has worked perfectly both times - no bleed at all!

Hi all,

well i have started work on the turret and have added the two machine guns for the moment. i do have the option to close the turret up or leave the upper hatch open. there is a recessed area to have have a figure standing there or possibly sitting there but my concern is that there is no detail which would still the be visible in that area.

Masked up for the final grey (AK English Grey). This will also be the colour for the lower hull & running gear/wheel hubs

This camouflage looks very complicated.

Certainly need a lot of concentration to mask and paint it.

the masks I drew on the PC (G.I.M.P or Photoshop type software will do) on a 3mm grid then printed on to the back of masking film (was for a cricut type machine which if I had one would;ve made the cutting out a lot easier and neater ;-). then it's a case of working out the best way so as you have a decent scheme. I believe the final colour will be the dominant colour (which is why it will be for the lower hull/running gear

And now painted and unmasked. Some tidy up needed especially on the Ash Grey where the Sky Grey bled in but I have to admit I am sadly pleased with this. So much so that the Type 89 may go the same way. Think I can increase the amount of masking, still a touch too much mid tone but its all a learning experience

It would be a lot of hard work to open up and detail the inside David. See if you have a nice broad shouldered figure with his arms pointing elbows outward a bit - that should cover most of the opening.

Came out pretty good Rob. Nice effect

Prier coat. This is Vallejo primer for Bronze green. It's a lot darker in reality

I'm using the late war olive green out of this set

base coats along with some shading

dirtying up the tyres. I made a slurry out of Vallejo european dirt pigment and alcohol then brushed it on. Leave it to dry then brush off

Almost finished now, just some dust to add and that will be it

Peter, that might be an option as I have some verlinden vietnam era torso figures in the stash some where.

Nice job on the pixel camo, Robert. I have tried it a few times myself. It is fiddly work, but the end result is definitely worth it.

I have also been masking with masking putty. Quite a problem as the masking fluid is slightly fluid. So quite some touching up to do.

More to follow soon.

Two nice works - love the Autoblinda (?) - scheme is really effective. I have similar stuff (panzer putty) - need to find a kit to use it on (maybe the Type 89 I am building but was taken with the digital camo so may do it on that as well)

It looks really good Colin although the dark background does not do justice to your model.
