Very nice work you made there. I like it's dusty look. What did you use for markings decals or did you paint them? And for mud you probably used MIG powders, right?

Thanks for the comments ,as for the decals they are from Bison and I can't say enough about the quality of these decals . I did use the circle decal but cut out the star and used an Eduard Mask for the star on the turret roof ,I wasn't going to even attempt to get the star to form over the fan cover.. Weathering was done with three filter coats ...a wash or two and MMP pigments...I was really looking dusty look .

Not just a pretty face... :-)
Excellent job Richard, it looks indeed as if it has just come across the hot, dry and dusty French countryside.
Cheers

Great looking Cromwell , I finished mine a few weeks ago and it was a joy to build OOB

Love the weathering and the extra markings.
I can agree whole heartedly with NOT using the kit provided decals , i followed a similiar route that you did , i used the circle and hand painted the star.

Very nice job Rick, everything looks very well balanced, nothing over or underdone anywhere. I built one of these a little over a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed the build, it's a great kit.

Gosh thanks guys for all the kind words.. I can't agree more this is the Tamiya kit and it is a pleasure to build I did have the Eduard P/E set but used very little of it ...I did wire up the small lights on the fenders and the search light and changed the handles on the hatches ..All in all a really fun kit to build. For my next British subject I was hoping on doing either a Comet or a Churchill AVRE...come on Bronco ..let's see that Comet .

Hi Richard.
After building the Cromwell I bought Tamiya's Churchill MKIIV and this too looks a beauty (tracks are the only poor part of the kit)
Its a beast of a tank plus theres a new sprue included with 3 tank crew a farmer figure including a 2 wheel cart , milk churns,a basket, wine bottles etc this is on top of the "tommy" and tank commander that was included in the original kit , not a nessecity I know but a nice little extra non the less.

Hi Ian ...I have that one on my shelf too...but I'm waiting for a Cromwell models Churchill AVRE kit to arrive one of these days... It's not a lack of subjects to build ..it's the lack of time to do all the subjects I got sitting around here.

Tamiya released these separately here, and you could pick this sprue up for like $8AU. The farmer is handing up wine bottles to the crew. Good detail me reckons... Especially the wine bottles, lanterns... useful stuff

Ooh Almost forgot...
Rick! Nice tank! Been meaning to get this Tamiya kit. Is it buildable without PE but still accurate enough?
Cheers

Bradley this kit is one of the nicest kits out there and really can be built out of the box with no big problems. It would have been nice to have the P/E grills in the box and not as separate item but the mesh material that comes with the kit will do the trick .
Thanks again all for the nice comments...Next one up is a DAK Tiger that is about a week away from paint.Bring on January's MoM! :-)
