I'm thinking something along the lines of 10 May '45. Russian troops patrolling, maybe some guarded Wehrmacht prisoners cleaning up, civilains queing, a field kitchen. Maybe a truck full off russians still dealing with their Victory day hangovers.

I have a pretty good start on my sctratchbuilt building and diorama base. Going to be a halftrack or night fight panther in the street, haven't decided.

I have a small scene from this battle with a damaged js2 and a lone German waitng for the Russians. But I might do a new one around a king tiger near the Tiergarten before the final zoo breakout.

I just signed up and am confident I can finish this in time. I'm building the Zvezda ISU 152 with troops riding on board and want to paint the broad white aerial recognition stripes on it but I haven't seen any evidence of ISUs carrying it apart from this photo
Does anyone know of any others?

I Googled, Yahood and AltaVita'd yesterday evening to find some pictures of it, but couldn't find any (only the bigger on Pat added too).
Though, it is common that it is typical for Berlin invading AFV's to have those white stripe.
However, there are also pictures of AFV's in Berlin without those stripes.
Was it perhaps a specific divison that use those?

Thanks Paul and Ian. I may go with that scheme, it's an interesting way of numbering; 1151 and 1161. I've also come across some photos showing large grafitti which says "Berlin bleibt Deutsch" which I think I'll paint on a wall in my dio.

Hi all,
Almost finished building my 1:72 IS2. Looks pretty good but my god those tracks were horror
I think have the same pic as mentioned in the post above, as I want to paint "Berlin bleibt Deutsch" on my wall as well It's a real nice pic showing a ISU152 in front of that wall.

I am kind of interested in all those dug in turrets and half destroyed panther tanks that they dug in around the city. I might even do something like that. Is it allowed to have two dio's done?

Indeed the PST kit. Except for the tracks it's a decent kit, but it's not like the superb Panther G from dragon I'm building as well! You can see I added some detail and replaced some parts on the IS2 as well.
When is Fruil going to release 1/72 tracks?

Hi all , I have been doing some research and mulling over ideas and I thought I would share them with you as It might help someone else as well.
I 'll start with some books that I can recomend, then some cool Berlin photo's I like that are helping me plan.
This is the most enthralling read on Berlin that I have found - well worth it!
Another good one , the difference being this goes into a lot more detail and can get heavy if you are not a fanatic on the battle.
Good end of war ref with some Berlin stuff.
Both good shots of the street turrets. Very much Berlin.
full Panther....I am seriously thinking of doing this one.
For the Russian guys.......
And quite possibly the last Tiger 1 in Combat - mid production Brandenberg gate. Knocked out defending the reichstag area.
Tiger 2 Potzdamer Platz
These Photo's are for ref only and come from 'after the battle' Berlin, Armor battles on the Eastern front 2- Concord, Stalins Heavy Tanks - Concord and Panzerwaffe 1945 Vol 1 - Wydawnictwo

Goodmorning Berliners!
(at least, it's morning here, otherwise goodday good evening and goodnight! -pfew, that sounds like Trueman show... :-) )
Well,
@ Ian: the reason I put 1 dio/entrie as maximum was to avoid fastly 'slapped together' diorama's or vignettes. I like to see serious entries, well thought over and discussed in order to fullfill the scope of the campaign:
a. study the history of this specific battle
b. study city / urban diorama's
It had also to do with the new campaign guidelines given by the staff half 2005 (see CCC forum page).
But, if you manage to enter 2 great entries, it's OK !
m:-)
@Alan, sounds good! But what is CQB ??
@ Martin; those models are becoming great. I like the brass wire you used to replace the grips on the PST model. The plastic grips in those kits are way too huge!
Looks good!

Thanks Paul for the info. The reason trhat I asked about two is that I am planning one around the dug in Panther but I have also just finished a Berlin street turret. Can I enter the street turret even though it is just finished?

Ian, that's OK. As long as there ar some figures on it as well (a 'must' in the campaign rules, boy am I a hard campaignleader or not?)
Also, the idea of a dug-in Panther or Panther turret is very good! It's typical for the battle in Berlin.
Looking forward to it!
By the way, very nice pictures you posted.
I like the last one very much (Potzdamer Platz) because
of the modern office building in the background.
It's something you don't see so often on WW2 pictures.

This is the idea that I'm playing with.
A streetscene; on the right the advancing Rusky's, on the left the retreating Krauts entering a shelter / undergoud complex.
I can't draw that good as some others here, but I think it shows the idea a bit.
Please tell me what you all think!

CQB = Close Quarters Battle. Room to room type gun battle
