Alan,
you've been pretty busy! Its looking great with all the rubble and the PAK. Shot hits in the building add a nice touch as well as the poster on the wall.

Alan, that dio is becoming an impresive one as far as I can see. What is the setup/story going to be?
I started yesterday on some Russian tankriders from Tamiya for the campaign using the Andrea figure paint set. Hope to post the results of it soon. Can't do that here on my work. Pitty, because it's very silent here at the moment...(what is a good thing by the way, because it means nothing is happening in my region!)

Well originally I was going to put a KV1 on the right in front of the big building. However my research showed that a KV1 would have little chance of surviving till 1945.
Then I was going to use an ISU152. However I stole that tank for a different project.
Now I think I'm just going to use figures in street fighting. Not sure. May get a cheap T34

Well I would suggest a IS2 (dragon has one) or a T-34/85 (different kits available)

Yeah I have an ISU 152 but it has been reassigned to another project. Since I will be having a bunch of Germans amid the rubble manning an MG42 against a Russian assault I'm afraid the tank would just blast the German position long before getting that close. I was thinking of a cheap T34 so that I can wreck it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

OK, I'm about 85% done on construction of my 250 neu. I've got a question about the base. Does the scene have to be set in Berlin itself, or can you be on the outskirts or suburbs of the city?

Evan,
Outskirts or suburbs of Berlin are OK, but keep in line withe the scope of the campaign: city/urban diorama's. So, no grassfields, forrest, swamp etc., just buildings and rubble :-)
Alan,
The KV1 did survive untill Berlin as the KV1S. You can modify a KV1 into the S version (or as the russian write C version). Also Eastern Express and Tamiya make the KV-1S/KV-1C in 1:35
Take a look on: http://www.battlefield.ru/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=47&Itemid=50&lang=en where I found this info:
In the summer of 1942, the KV-1S prototype was tested. On August 20, 1942, the production of this tank had begun. However, when the KV-1S appeared in the war theatre, the Red Army was already in need of a tank with thicker armor and better protection. A total of 1370 KV-1S were built. In April 1942 its production was cancelled. Many tanks were sent in tank brigades because the reorganization of the Red Army had not begun yet. The KV-1S took part in all major operations of the Red Army including the Berlin operation.
...
The new tank was named KV-1S where "s" letter means "skorostnoy" or "speed". The KV-1S was lighter than its predecessor by up to 5 tons. The thickness of the frontal armor was lowered from 90 mm to 75 mm. The rear hull was re-designed. The existing road wheels were replaced with newer, lighter ones. The KV-1's transmission was re-designed as well.
And the PST 1:72 model kit of the Berlin KV1-S:
FOUND SOME DRAWINGS ON: http://www.onwar.com/tanks/ussr/profiles/pkv1s.htm
So, Alan, is it gonna be KeeVeeOneRules?? ;-)

Finally got around to making a start on the figures. Now all I need to do is work out the design of the base and street! Minor point...lol.
I'm going for SS Charlemagne and Nordland counter attacking/tank killing seeing as they were thrown together in the last few days.

Yeah, I tend to buy a few boxes of each and mix them about to get better poses. I tend to replace the heads with Hornet ones though as their expressions area a bit blank. They all seem to have 1000yd stares...lol. I found quite a good site with combat reports from Charlemagne so I'm using that as a basis for the dio

Hey Karl,
That's indeed an interesting site with reports of the Berlin fights. This is the working link: http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=881

Some great pictures of US lend & lease vehicles used by Russians also in Berlin. Like these scoutcars.
Good quality pictures.

Interesting shot Paul as it seems to be a relatively untouched part of the city. You don't get to see shots like this much when it comes to Berlin stuff.
