Hello again friends:

Here more pics:

The sides of the hull have an panels with an engraved regular

The rear of the hull have a small faults and each grill zone is compound to 2 parts - regular

Here you can see the tools mounted on the engraved panels, the plastic is some soft

The detail of the rear hull is good, but nothing extraordinary in this case - rare with the Gunze kits

Now the following step is the Turret.

Rodolfo

Progress on my Cdn Leopard C1, as my Voyager engine grills arrived in the mail ( I'd ordered two, as I had two kits to complete including a Leo C2). These were installed simultaneously by hacking a big sloppy hole out and gluing them in, then shoring them up with thick styrene. The centre handles are accurately shaped, but not apparent in the picture due to glare. Now primed and ready for paint, the C1 is on the left:

I know its not much but it’s a start.

SWMBO left me alone for awhile this weekend and I finally made some headway on my Dragon Intial Tiger. Wow this kit is great. Got the suspension done and all the roadwheels together. The kit is amazing. I will post some pics when I actually get somewhere worth taking pics.

And now to watch the Netheralnds start their road to the World Cup

My Canadian Leopard C1 has been painted in standard NATO 3-tone cam, and once the paint's dry she'll receive markings and equipment.

If the Oilers weren't in the finals, I'd never get any work done on this thing!

Another latecomer. Lots of Leopards on the shelf, think I will go for a 1/72 Leopard 2A4.

Hi folks,

Productive weekend. Long one here in Chile, and no Internet in my house took a chance to finished a lot of things (my 2 M113, Greatest Ever Tanks and Meow campaigns ). For Meow, I did a RoG Leopard 2A4, painted in acrylics, tried to picture how will look the new Leos aqcuired by the Chilean Army. OOB, quick build, lot´s of fun. Hope to scratch a Leo 1V, also Chilean Army, as 2nd entry. Well, pics:

Cheers

At this rate the Tamiya Panther G early will be finished December, December 2010!

Got the Cavalier Zimm onto the rear hull, sides, under the sponsons and turret sides last night. Some of the usual Cavalier fit issues for me, side panels a bit too long, but since the tool locations are pretty well fixed, the trimming comes off the back end.

Luckily the Eduard Barrel drops right into the Cavalier mantlet.

I folded and added the cupola interior bits from the Aber etch set except for the periscopes which will need to be painted and added seperately.

Those #%$@%$&#$^ Aber scope holders take 9 folds a piece and 3 of them fit onto my little fingernail when done!

Pics later.

Is that a Panzer4 turret sitting on a Panther chassis or am I imagining things?

Looking great Rodolfo. Nice camo!
One small suggestion: I noticed you painted the bolt/wire cutters as though they had wooden handles. These were actually a plastic-like material (bakelite, I believe) covering steel cores. They were sort of a burnt-orange, almost rust color.

The 653rd Heavy Panzerjager Battalion bolted the turret to one of their older Bergepanther Ausf D. The unit fought with Stugs and then replaced them with Ferdinands/Elefants, so they were used to aiming a gun by moving the vehicle.

The early Bergepanther was only a Panther without a turret, used to tow disabled tracks. Later, the Ausf A/G was produced with a powerful winch inside to pull tracks out of ditches, mud, etc. So once they got the better Bergepanther the old ones were rather useless. I dont think the weight of the Panzer IV turret or the Flak gun was a burdon for the Panther chassis.

They also mounted a quad 20mm Flak gun to another Bergepanther chassis and a T-34 chassis

Rodolfo,

Wasn't the Beobachtungswagen Panther used as an artillery forward observer vehicle to call in the artillery? And that the barrel was a fake one like on the M-31 and some Britsh ARV's? If the gun is fake would they have mounted the cleaning rods, under the container for the cleaning rods? Or are they for some thing else?

I have never paid much attention to this vehicle before, infact I used to think it was a howitzer like the 105mm Shermans.

Great job on the wooden handles, they look very real.

I knew about the Flak T-34 and the Flakpanther, but this Panzer4 turret is rather a surprise for me. Still, I think it looks aggresive enough with a low profile and menacing looks.

Let's see that one coming up!

There is a thread for completed campaign entries currently bumped back to page 3 of this forum. If Klaus were to enter his fine Leo 2A6 in that one, it would rise back to the top... I am still several days from finishing markings and optics upgrades (thanks to Jason's advice) from posting completed pics! I'll show my progress in a few days. Looking good, all!
