Hello friends:

Thanks for the observation Steve. Jim.- Yes, this type of tank carried the fake gun (Dummy), some of them were used in battle as proof. The panzerbeob., were put the normal tools for simulating a true tank.

I started the washes. I used oils mixed with turpentine. When dried, I will add earth in the chassis and will work with more details.

Soon more pics,

Hello again friends:

Here more pics.

For making earth dry, I am mixing pigments (brown) and Mr.Surfacer of Gunze Sangyo

Here I am applying the mixture

Here I am finishing the area

Both sides of the chassis are ready.

The rear and front were applied with the same mix

I will use the same method with the wheels before to add in the tank. Soon more pics.

Regards,
Rodolfo

Rodolfo, the color of the handles looks spot on now. Your project is shaping up nicely.

I will hopefully have pictures up this weekend. Almost finished with the build, and I am trying to correct some of the kits faults.

Thanks for your comments Steve.

Here more pics. I applied flat-earth of Tamiya with my airbrush and over the tank too.

Soon, more pics

Hi there

I'm working on a Churchill Tank (Tamiya's latest version), and I've done a little bit of weathering and detailing.

I'm trying to find some usefull figures that fits the tank, I believe three figs would be sufficient. Also, I have to find some equipment and gear as stowage.

Still work to be done, hope you'll enjoy.

Cheers

Simon

Nice and dusty Churchill you have there Simon. No self respecting Churchill would be caught without a good coat of dust and dirt. But, I hate to be the first to ask, this isn't what you are building for the campaign, is it? I mean, even with a flamethrower and trailer this beast is a crocodile, which isn't exactly in the feline family. Do you see what I mean?

Edited: I just re-read the campaign description, and it might seem a little vague as to one of the principle requirements of the build--a cat theme. It mentions "Hellcat" and "Tiger" but doesn't explicitly state that subjects are to be cat related. In fact, it looks as though the writer may not have finished the sentence where he mentioned hellcat and tiger. It reads as though he meant to specify a cat theme there, but I don't know.

JEEPERS!

You're right! Thanks for making me aware of that very essential principle...I just thought that the vehicle should have a nickname (Hellcat, Leopard, Tiger etc.). Well, my mistake. Next time I should read closer...

Well, forget everything about my Churchill, and sorry Blaster76 for my mistake. I hope I hav'nt caused any problems for upcoming entries to this campaign.

Sorry guys. And thanks for the info, Steve

Cheers

Hi all,
Good builds going on here (and at speed too!)
Finally made a start on my King Tiger Just thought I'd show where I had got to. Still lots to do and taking pictures always show more things to fix.
Is there a limit to how many other things are in the dio as long as the "cat theme" is the centrepoint?

Cheers

You guys are correct. It appears that the "cat theme" did get left out of the description. That was the third time I submitted the proposal and forgot to put that half a clause in the description.. Thank goodnes everyone caught the implication that it had to be cat related. Well one made an error and hopefully he will go ahead and still do an entry.

As to a diorama, the only stipulation is that the "cat vehicle" be in it and all the rules for making it apply. If you are showing a Tiger blowing up a Sherman, the Tiger has to be made during the time frame, the Sherman could be 4 years ago.

Okay, I'm a little late but I'm now officially in. I have a Skybow Tiger I Early that I started last weekend and Skybow Tiger I Late on the shelf. These are great little kits with excellent detail. I shouldn't have any trouble completing both, even at my normal turtles pace.

I'm progressing on my Dragon initial Tiger at a reasonable pace. Most of the major styrene assembly is done. I'll be using a mix of the kit PE and the voyager set, as well as a set of tracks from a new company called MasterClub. These things are amazing. I've submitted a review, so hopefully that will be posted soon. If anyone is building this kit and is thinking about aftermarket tracks, give this set consideration. They're not yet widely distributed but are available from Model Point US for customers on this side of the pond.
Here are a couple of snaps, not great, but my battery gave out after my third shot or so.

This is my entry for the campaign, a Tasca Luxhs, with Fruil model tracks. the Luchs is built OOB except for the addition of some Aber tool clamps. The figure is headless to help with the painting, the ariel will be in the vetical position when the Luchs is finished, but for safties sake, is it lying down for now. Very good kit, easily on par with any of the currrent releases!

I'm doing the headless guy thing as well. Just liked all that iner hatch detail and wanted to leave a couple open. Probably paint the dark grey on kit this week as I think I've just about got all the itty bitty gaps taken care of (melted strech sprue took care of all that)

Rodolpho:

Grat looking kit. That rear deck is screaming for those Engine grill screens though. Tamiya makes a really nice generic set fr a reasonable price.

Thanks for your kind comments friend Steve!.

I have the Tamiya set, but this time I not used "add-ons" because is a 100% "out of box" work.

More pics. I added rust in the exhaust pipes and soot on the rear deck and another little effect in the both sides.

1.- For the exhaust pipes I applied a mix of pigments with surfacer, after of dry I added only pigments as second application - I will add a final touch

2.- some rust on the both sides with a mix of pigments, surfacer and thinner of Gunze

3.- With black pigments I applied soot on the rear deck and the top of the exhaust pipes.

4.- Shadow in the wheels with matt brown of Vallejo - I will complete with a light coat of brown with airbrush

I was pretty busy and forgot that the campaign had started already

Lucky enough I bought the kit for the campaign a long time ago, it's the Revell 1/72 Jagdpanther and a Part PE-set for it, I'm really looking forward to finding some time to build it

Hey guys you got some really nice models started for this campaign...I was wondering ...hmmmm welll errhh... I started a couple of Panthers about a month before the campaign started but had to wait for my tracks and P/E sets to arrive so I put them aside with maybe a couple of days work done on them ...and haven't touched them since ...I got side tracked on another project but I,m about to finish that project and start up my panthers again ...I was wondering if you,d let me play too.. ..If not ...no big deal I understand there are rules to be followed and I won't hold it against anyone ... Even if I can,t join I might just post a few pictures as I go for the fun of it ...So let me know one way or the other ...
Rudolfo nice BeoPanther so far but be careful of the blackening of the engine deck those wer air intakes and heat exhausts (hot air)so no soot should be around them... another little point I noticed is you have added the tow hooks backwards the little round buds at the top should actually be glued to the hull sides ...no big deal just sand them down and drill a hole in the ends ...
Good job all around ..

here's another slowski update: finished construction and ready for painting. just showing the main chassis, the other bits are stuck to toothpicks and ice-cream sticks, not too glamorous
