Hi guys,
I just joined up and will be building the Dragon 1/72 Challenger II.
I haven't had the time to shoot pictures but I will as soon as possible.
The kit was easy to assemble save for the tracks which were too tight. I ended up spending almost 1 hour today on them.
But I managed to get it done up and primed. I'll begin painting tomorrow.

Hello all,
I've completed the 1/72 Challenger II. It was my quickest build ever. Total time spent: 7 hours. 'nuff said. Here are the pictures.

Very nice Mark. In 1/35th is one thing, but a really nicely done 1/72 tank is a beautiful thing.

Hi All
Heres my finished Tamy Centaur
The dio is titled "Finishing touches"(southern England June 1944)
It shows a Royal Marine Centaur crewed by R.A.C troops in the final days before D Day getting it ready for the big day,a new jerry can rack has just been welded on and is in the prossess of being painted, when"EVERY THING STOPS FOR TEA"!!!
This is my second Dio,the base is a picture frame, with a Verlinden cobbled street section, with EACH stone hand painted
The decals are by Bison, the tanker figs are from Ultracast and are a joy to behold,I only wish my limited skills could do them justice
The boy and dog are VLS,the tea mugs were made from brass tube, with a handle soldered on,the paint cans were scratch built and the brushes were carved from a matchstick, the cammo net was a bandage dyed green with strips of tape added for the scrim.
Hope you like
All comments /questions welcome, but please note due to ISP problems I might not be able to reply straight away
Tanks for looking

Amazing build Andy, I love just abotu every peice of it. And I think your "limted skills" did do the crew justice. They look great. Not much more that I can say, except Im surprised you maintained your sanity painting each stone by hand

Great build, Andy. Really impressive - especially the extra touches with the base and insignia on the base.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks guys
Kevin..painting the cobbles only took a couple of hours, feet up ,watching a DVD ,ssssshhhhh the secret is ,they dont have to be that perfect ,washes and drybrushing really make them stand out as single stones I used 6 or 7 different colours and shades, the most trouble was ,not "bunching" the same colour .
Jesper..I think adding real badges/medals to dios makes them stand out,
the RAC badge is a collar dog, with a thin black wash to age it,the R.M badge was a horrid "stabrite"thing which was painted and washed.
Gary... Brilliant mate, you made my day
Cheers

My AS-90 is done. I had some trouble with my decal sheet being torn/cut, making some of the decals unusable, with peices missing. So other than the fact my markings are completely made up and inaccurate, Im fairly happy with this build. This is also the first time I actually used modelling putty to fill the seam on the barrel. Any and all comments welcome.

My LRDG is too pink for the 'Desert Yellow' Campaign, it's too big for 'Special Forces' so I'm hoping it'll fit in 'Best of British' - if not I'm an ORPHAN
Details have been posted in the Desert Yellow Campaign, for the time being.
As a follow up I intend building and converting a Tamiya Jeep to a vehicle of 'Popski's Private Army' (PPA), a little different from the usual SAS vehicles.

Howdy everyone,
Is joining the campaign allowed a this stage? I am currently working on Tamiya's Quad Tractor in 1/35 scale and finished with the main paint job. However, my workschedule is pressing me so much that I am constantly away from workbench (16 hours a day working, 2 hours on the road to go to work and back, you think the rest). Would it be a problem if I joined at the last minute if I feel I can complete my model in time? I just don't want to join now and then say "upps sorry" later on.

This is going to be my entry: the sherman III. It's the dragon kit build OOTB but i'm going to use archer and verlinden dry decals.
I want to make a different vehical then "barfort st martin", "The old bell", "corston" ( the kits decals), does anyone know other nicknames of other squadrons?
Patrick

Hiya Andras,
They're all Milicast (20mm - 1:76th), except for the white metal Morris C8 in the forground which is from MMS.. And hopefully I should be able to fit in the Churchills .....

1/72 DML Firefly... It was really a pleasure to build (except for some insanely small PE parts); the detail rivals the 1/35 versions. (Well, if someone can make it justice. I tried, but...) I loved the 50cal MG, so attached it, though the instructions didn't call for it. (Not to mention I had no idea which parts were needed... hopefully it's realistic enough.)
I don't like my tanks all muddy, chipped and rusted (a bit unrealistic), so after a bit of a dust'n'rust I called it a day (those grey flakes are there on purpose on the lower hull). Unfortunately I can't find my macro objective, so the photo was taken with a small Cannon compact. (Hence the poor quality.)
I picked this guy up in the LHS one day -it has the first coat of green. I would like to ask for some advice on the painting on peeling wood. (The planks.) How muddy would the bridge be?
All comments are welcome (and encouraged) -don't hold back
Brent, why build milicast kits? Faster? (Seems like most of the building is done already... and they do look good.)

Hi Andras,
The brits I'm doing are basically a wargames army, as is all the 20mm I do, including my recent DMOM Panther - its a wargaming vehicle first and foremost. Milicast are pretty good quality and offer a lot of stuff you can't get in kit form, for instance I think they do over 12 varients of British Sherman.
So to maintain a consistant look and scale the brits shown are all Milicast (cept for 1 vehicle).
cheers

I have just joined the campaign thinking I can finish my model in time despite my continuous overtime at work. The model I will be submitting is the Tamiya's 1/35 Quad Tractor. It has the base coat of paint and first coat of clear on now. As soon as I can go home I will post pictures.
Will there be any option for extension? I know this is too early in the game, however I do have serious timing issues thanks to work.
