In that frustrating moment while sitting in a rush hour traffic, I know you all have thought how great it would be to be able to drive a tank or armored car to work.
Well, a random thought popped into my head as I was looking at Jacques Duquette's awesome BTR-70 2S14 Zhalo. I thought, "That vehicle would be great to drive to work in." Great styling, looks like it gets pretty good gas mileage (compared to a tank), pretty easy to parallel park considering the multi-wheel steering and you can still run over stuff.
So, that's my vote for my "what-if" vehicle to drive to work in.
What would be your vehicle and why?

I think it would have to be the Maus just so I could fill the car park to annoy people... :-) :-) :-)

Anything but an Abrams, only because of gasoline prices. I figure it would cost me $500 a day to travel to work.

Personally I would go with the M-18 Hellcat. I don't really need really thick armor to take out a SUV. Then on the plus side i can drive to work with the top down.

I'm not old enough to drive anyway, but an FV432. Small enough to be relatively easy to get around in but big enough so that people will stay out of your way. It's nothing huge, but you'd get out of the way if you saw one right behind you, wouldn't you?

Well, I'd like an M2 or M3 halftrack for the most part....but then again an M548 would look good next to all the other pick up trucks.

Honestly, Im thinking an LAV25. Its wheeled so I could probably keep up some good road speed on the highway. Its 8 wheel drive so when my employees call up and say they cant get to work because of snow, I could always pick them up and ruin their day off LOL I also work in a bad neighborhood, and Im thinking just the site of the bushmaster pointing at the guy in the lowered Hyundai Excel (with tinted windows, 20 inch rims, and a 1000 wass stereo system) would probably give up any thoughts of car jacking me LOL

I think these would be fun, a Russian Ba-64, probably gets great MPG, and a Willy's Jeep would be great, too!

Funny you should mention the LAV. They are actually made (some anyway) in London, Ontario at General Dynamics, so I pass these daily on my commute to work. It's a little intimidating when sitting at a traffic light and one pulls up behind you.

Hello Gents!
Great post ! I would love to drive a LAV III, to work, it is a " Van With An Attitude ", if traffic gets to heavy , I can go " Off Road ", and I can park it , " Where I Want". The kids, got lots of room to play in , and also features the " family hatches " , so they can look out . If the weather is bad , there is also a monitor in the back , so they can see where Daddy is driving .If someone really annoys me , I just point the 25 mm, at them ,and they will get out of my way . LOL.Thanks , and Happy Modelling!

great question, superb answers.
I would pick a Land Rover, but if I could, I would be very tempted with a Centurion...... failing that, a Leopard (any Leopard) will do the job.

You can't beat an M18 Hellcat as the perfect ride to work.
It's fast, it's sort of a convertible :-) :-) and easy on gas .
What else could you want?
Cheers

Looks like a T29 heavy tank. It was made to counter the German Königstiger. Only a limited number prototypes were made.
As for vehicle to go to work, I'll have a Rooikat with an 105.
