There are two kinds of books I purchase. The first are technical manuals which concentrate on a specific vehicle or its variants. The second category, could best be described as 'Docu-books', look at a vehicle within the context of its 'field' service. In other words, books which reproduce contemporary photographs which are vital to see the little details of stowage and field modification which are a modeller's 'bread and butter'. This new book from Concord Pubications is undoubtedly in the second category.

It seems that 99% of the stories published on this site, covering future Dragon releases, are related to 1/35th scale. Therefore, it is a positive feeling when their 1/72nd scale releases can be covered in an equally serious manner.
It is a moot point as to whether any conflict in history has been as well-documented as Operation Iraqi Freedom. Many books continue to be published covering all aspects of the war and interest in modelling vehicles of the conflict continues to grow apace. With this new book, it is unlikely if the intention of Concord was to break new ground, but it was clearly their intention to publish a book of direct use to modellers....
I came across the following exciting future releases from Resicast while browsing the Perth Military Modelling Site. Now admittedly I am normally hesitant to publish news until it is confirmed on the manufacturer's website - but this news is just too exciting to keep to myself, and we all know what a reliable source Terry Ashley (PMMS) is!!

Normally I do not like writing a news article without conclusive evidence, and preferably some reference to the kit on the manufacturer's website. Acting on a "tip off" from a very reliable source I set off in search of the mystical new Trumpeter range of kits. The only reference I had to work off was a suprising short thread on Missing-lynx. Eventually I found pictures of the elusive new 1/48 "Project Sherman" in my very own backyard.
