The last few months have seen both new releases and many kits in the pipeline in armor, in 1:48th scale. Two manufacturers have been at the forefront of this development, Tamiya and the (reconstituted) company of Skybow. More and more, of the AM (aftermarket) companies are now beginning to bring out sets for vehicles in this scale. The latest to join them, is Hauler from the Czech Republic...

Once again,Archer Fine Transfers have produced a huge list of new releases in both 1/35th and 1/48th scale...

Thanks to the fine work of Jim Rae and the writing skills of Vinnie Branigan (Teacher), Dragon Models Ltd. has offered to start sending us items directly from Hong Kong for review on the site. While we have been getting items from many established vendors this is the first relationship with a major plastic manufacturer and hopefully a sign of things to come for 2005.

Echelon Fine details emerged a year or so with an extraordinary series of decal sheets in 1/35th scale. Primarily, they have produced decal sets for Modern AFVs although their last releases contained a number of extraordinary sheets for WWII German vehicles. With these new releases, they are returning to U.S. vehicles in O.I.F....

It has been somewhat amiss of me to have paid little attention to the new releases of Archer Fine Transfers - in future these wll become regular updates. Archer for those who are unaware of their products, produce an extraordinary variety of decal sheets in 1/72nd, 1/35th, 1/16th and recenty, 1/48th scale. They do not simply produce vehicle decals, they also produce such printed material as flags, insignia for figures (VERY useful!) and propoganda posters...

Quartermaster's Depot, for the unitiated, are a Canadian company who produce decal sheets in both 1/72nd and 1/35th scale. They have just announced a further SIX sheets of 1/35th sale decals....

These are yet more of the new releases which are eagerly expected... The Australian manufacturer Firestorm Models have announced a small number of new releases which go right into the Highly Interesting category....

Formations Models produce resin update sets, conversion sets and parts which serve to make the Sherman (and Stuart) modeller's life just that little easier. This time, the releases are ALL for Sherman variants with one release in particular (IMHO) especially welcome!

Tiger model Designs produce an extensive and well-considered range of update/conversion sets, in resin, for 1/35th vehicles. In the last few months, their attention has switched (principally) to allied vehicles, particularly the Stuart and Sherman and these new releases follow the 'trend'...

ModelPoint US is a company who have establshed a name for themselves as retailers/distributors of those hard to find Conversion/Detail sets and figures from Eastern Europe and Russia. Folowing in with this, Modelpoint US now have a new range available - The Miniarm Range of 1/35th scale conversion and update sets....

Yesterday, after having posted the news of DML's provisional list of releases for 2005, I honestly wasn't expecting any more news for a few days....

Following on from the DML 2005 elease list, here is the corresponding one from Italeri Once again, the following should be understood:

a) No release dates yet..

b) Many are re-pops..

c) They aren't available yet...

Via various sources and forums (P.M.M.S. and Track-LinK) We are now able to bring a PROVISIONAL list of Dragon's new releases for 2005... Particular mention should be made of Saul Garcia's original informations....

It has been a while since I posted a news story on new releases from Echelon Fine Details for the unitiated, perhaps i't's worthwhile re-introducing them... Echelon produce decals for 1/35th scale AFVs. However, not only do they produce decals, they also have one of the most interesting range of decals of any producer out there. These new releases, although for a popular subject, continue this trend with flying colors....

Gathering information on AFV Club's new releases is not the easiest task in the world. Rather it is a series of clues that allow you, after weeks of 'hints' to finally post a news story. Unlike other companies, AFV Club does not have a website.. However I am confident that these new releases will live up to everyone's expectations...
