Coming soon from Hobby Boss a new tooled release of a Russian Katyusha rocket launcher in 1/35 scale.
Hobby Boss has announced that they have a BM-13 Katyusha in the works. While the rocket launchers were mounted on different trucks during World War 2, this releases looks to be the ZiL-157, with armoured cab. According to Hobby Boss this release is a completely new tooled kit.

Hi Kevin, I think it is zil-151 not 157 hence the rear dual axes. The 157 has only singles on all axes with bigger wheel diameter.

It is a BM-13 Katyusha rocket system on a Zil-151 chassis. This is a post WWII version used during the '50s and '60's by the Soviets and as late as the '80s by Third World Soviet client states. It is the same version as produced by Italeri for years. It should be much better than the old Italeri kit though.

I remember seeing this vehicle, or one very similar to it, being used in the Lebanese civil war back in 1975. Good release. Hisham

I guess sometimes Wikipedia can lead me in the wrong direction, thanks for the clarifications.

None the less... the armor shielding around the cab is a new one on me and never seen them set up like that. Jeff

Not exactly the same but similar... This one looks closer, but the truck is a ZiL-157 : Judging by the pics I've seen, many similar set-ups can be found with minor differences between them (with or without vision slits for instance...). H.P.
