Following the Panzer IV Ausf. B and Ausf. C, Hobby Boss announces two more ex-Tristar Panzer IV variants. The chosen ones are the Panzer IV/70 (A) Sd.Kfz.162/1and tthe SturmPanzer IV Early "Brummbär" Sd. Kfz.166
These kits were already sold under Tristar label so they are not really new, however as they were becoming scarce, it is good to have them available again.

At first sight it seems that nothing has changed for good or bad, not even the box art. These are the contents for each model:

Panzer IV / 70 (A) Sd. Kfz.162/1
Item No 80133
19 Sprues plus lower hull
Stainless steel mesh
2 pieces of Photo Etched Parts

SturmPanzer IV early Sd. Kfz.166 "Brummbar"
Item No 80134
37 Sprues plus lower hull
Copper cable
3 pieces of Photo Etched Parts

Interesting the boxes still look like Tristar.

If these are re-boxed Tristar, then RUNNNNNNN AWAAAAAAAY. A friend just built the IV/70 from Tristar and it didn't fit well at all.

Nothing wrong with these kits - careful cleanup and alignment of parts is required!

Trumpeter/Hobby Boss did acquire Tristar, and it was stated that Hobby Boss would be the name used for release. It was my understanding that there would be a clean up of the molds, but I have not seen any information as to this occuring. I guess it would be a wait for a review to see if there has been any changes. But based on the boxes, it looks like it may just be a straight re-release.
