The Ukrainian manufacturer, MasterBox Ltd will shortly be releasing six new, 1/35th scale figure sets. here's a report on what to expect...
Back in february, at the Nuremberg Trade Fair, I was fortunate enough to meet the people behind MasterBox and I was given a look at some of the initial mouldings of some of the projects which will be available in the course of this year.

MasterBox are a company who, perhaps more than any other, produce figure sets which complement one another - almost an 'instant' vignette in the box! These new releases follow this very unique approach. Also notable, is the animation of their figures - the company are undoubtedly doing some of the most 'active' figures on the market today!

The New releases - All are 1/35th scale, Plastic:

3519 - U.S. Machine-gunners - two figures and a Browning A 1917 MG

3520 - D-Day", 6th June 1944 these portay troops of the 29th Infantry division during the initial assault on Omaha.

3521 - U.S. Infantry, July 1944

3525 - Skatspieler One of their 'vignette' sets consisting of four figures playing cards round an impromptu table made of jerry cans.

3526 - German Machine-Gunners, Eastern front 1944 An unusual set this, consisting of three late-war German Infantry and an MG 08 HMG (rather than the usual MG34/42)

3527 - Checkpoint This set consists of six figures - three German figures and (VERY welcome in plastic), three civilians along with a pole barrier and sentry box.

Three of these sets will soon feature as reviews on this site (3520, 3521 & 3526), meanwhile, as in indication of what to expect in the quality of the MasterBox products, this link will take you to the page linking all the reviews that have been done here: MasterBox Reviews Page

Thanks Jim. Interesting figure sets. I'm sure they will be populating many dioramas and vignettes.

Very nice poses! They will be a really good addition to any diorama builder's wish list. Thanks for posting!

I know they were originally advertised as such, but it looks as if the D-Day Infantry has one guy with an assault vest, but I was wondering if these can be transformed into Rangers?

lol, If my dio's looked as good as the box-art i'd be a happy man! On a serious note though, I can't wait to see these in the shops, some amazing figures, I love the interaction between them. Glad to see the US figures, and like the german machine gunners, a nice (and different) kit. James

Hats off to MasterBox. They are coming out with some really nice kits, with great poses, of subjects that haven't been done to death. That check point one is kind of scary, when you think about the historical context, but looks very well done. The allied kits are great, and that card playing scene figures could probably be converted to just about any army. It's great to see figures in shirt sleeves in any nationality.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but with luck I should have the new sets for Review in a few days...
