That ZiL-130 front and axles will be interesting / Robin

I'm just guessing here; but does the "front of a Zil-130" then convert some existing military model to a popular Russian civilian truck? Why just offer the "front" for a particular Studebaker-esque looking truck?

Well OK then; if you read the somewhat hard to see captions printed on the box art in the somewhat smallish promotional photos we then find that these "fronts" are conversions for ICM and Bronco kits.

Furthermore, if one knows ones Russki trucks by heart and can recite their specifics if one is woken up at three o'clock in the morning one would also know that the ZiL-130 and ZiL-131 are very closely related. The main differences are in the front sheet metal and the drivetrain, the 130 being a 2x4 and the 131 a 6x6. Youtube clip (no sound) of dirt racing with ZiL-130 trucks: LINK Now, does that look like fun or does it look like a lot of fun? Here is a ZiL-130 which has been given the sheet metal from a ZiL-131, the truck at the back of the photo. Don't know why, maybe the original one was scrapped and a new front "liberated" somewhere as a spare part / Robin

Why are the headlights on the model upside-down?

Ahh, that is a trick to fool the capitalist-imperialist spies. Make them think that the workers of the glorius Soviet Union is actuallymaking two different trucks instead of figuring out that there are small differences between different years of manufacture. Da! Built in the 1960'ies In the markings of the Nationale Volksarmee of the great (and utterly failed) Deutsche Demokratische Republik, that's German Democratic Republic for you capitalist-imperialists Note that this is a 4x4 version, don't know the official designation for this one. / Robin

Interesting conversion indeed....But you'll have to find the specific wheels elsewhere in case they're not included (Custom Factory for instance). Here's a ZiL-130 in Afghanistan : H.P.
