Tamiya's recent (and welcome) issue of a new-tooling of the Opel Blitz has inevitably encouraged the AM manufacturers to add their products to the kit. Here's the offering from LionRoar
LE35086 - WWII GERMAN OPEL BLITZ 3ton CARGO TRUCK

Dealing with detail areas such as the maker's plate on the front radiator along with the supports for the cargo body, toolbox, and blackout light covers amongst other features, this new set should prove both popular and useful.

Now, they come out with it! Just as mine is going on the shelf.

The one which used 3 or 4 of the kit parts and did the first PE Half-track? Now THAT was over-the-top.

Hi A bit disappointed they didn't tackle the louvred bonnet sides which if my memory serves me correctly they did do either with the old Italeri Blitz or Mercedes truck. I understand Plus Models are to release an engine detail set for the Tamiya truck as well, maybe that'll include them. Alan

Agree 100% Alan. I saw a friends model with this lourve set ... and the price for the set is worth it just for these 2 parts. A lot of the little pieces shown here would be considerable work to remove the plastic and place etch, with very little visible effect afterwards. Step back in my opinion.

Hi Yes Lion Roar don't seem to be offering a good alternative which is unusual for them given some of the great stuff they 've released lately. It looks like on the Tamiya kit the new Voyager set is the one to go for. Not only do you get bits to dress the oil drums on top of detail for the truck but you get the really nice bit ... the bonnet pieces. Got to be the one. Alan

...Watch this space. I've just been sent details of a complete replacement engine set (including radiator and side-louvres...

Plus Model maybe?? Anyway there is little point in having a nicely detailed open radiator grill and bonnet features such as these louvres if what you see through it is empty space so anything like what you are about to tell us of is most welcome. The more I think about it the less I think Tamiya did to bring out a next century kit compared to the venerable old Italeri kit. A opportunity missed and I bet they don't follow it up with the variations like Italeri did, or if they do it will be at glacial pace. Alan
