Hi,
Just got my model for this campaign this afternoon. It's the Achilles Mk. IIC from Extrapack (Eduard), scale 1:72, a model which is unquestionably based on the Sherman
The model, no longer in production but the local hobbystore still had a couple, comes with resin parts, a metal gun barrel and photo etched parts. There's decals for 6 versions, 3 British, 1 Polish, 1 Egyptian and 1 Canadian. I'm going to build the Canadian one as a tribute to the people who liberated my hometown.

Hi!
Another change of plan caused by market situation (if you can't get what you like - you like what you get )
I'll build M4A2 Sherman from C Company 1st Marine Tank Battalion - one of tanks that took part in assault on Tarawa .
Can't wait to start building it - it will be my first Sherman tank (first American one too...)

Hey,
I'am signed up.I'll be working on a M32,but will be on the M4A3 hull, for the longest time I've had all of the M32 recovery parts from a Testor's model laying around,Ive built the Testor's M32 OOB,very nice build despite it's main flaw(large hatches),I'll be adding a set of DML indy tracks to mine.

Never done a campaign before.Makes me a virgin I guess...What do I have to do to be part of the campaign? Can I enter a Sherman that is already built? Do u have to show a step by step of the build???? Do u just build a kit, take photos post it/ give description of it???? What do I need to do?????

Oh, does that mean we can't do an M7 Priest for this campaign either? That was built on an M3, but I assumed that since they were pretty much the same chassis it be ok...
Oh well, I have an M4A1 in my stash too.
M7 would be OK as long as it's later version based on M4 parts.
does this mean the late model based on the M4A3 or could you use the mid production using the M4 VVSS and the M4 cast trans housing? considering the M4 and M4A1 were basically based on the M3 as a stop-gap measure where is the line on a vehicle like this? a mid production with sherman parts sure looks like an sherman, mabey even more so than an M10.
just want to clarify, since I have an old Italerie Kangaroo I'd love to do up for this.

Well, from one campaign virgin to another first you have to join, you can do so here
It has to be a kit that hasn't been build already, you can't start building before the campaign kicks off (April 4th) and it has to be finished at the end of the campaign (Sept 1st) and you have to be post at least one photo of the finished model in a gallery, especially created for this campaign.
As for the rest, step-by-step, description at the end, I would also like to know that. And are we allowed to put the model on a small vignette?

Maurice, Jeff,
If you want to join any campaign all you have to do is to go to "Campaigns" part of Armorama, choose a campaign, read the conditions (scale, type of vehicle/diorama etc.) and enlist. When campaing starts you start building your model with rest of us .
To have the campaign approved all you have to do is to put at least one picture of finished model in official gallery and usualy on the campaign's forum.
You can also put some work-in-progress pictures here but if you want to make a picture of each and every step of your work it is better to start an independent WIP topic in campaing forum.
Concerning vignettes - if the campaign leader allows you can present the model as a stand-alone, or on a vignettes (if it is a diorama type of campaign - you have to make diorama ). Usualy it's not a problem.
Have a lot of fun guys. I joined Armorama three months ago and I must tell you that campaigns give lots of fun and opportunities to learn.

Hi everybody,
Once again I'm posting banners for Shermans! campaign - this time with adresses so everybody can use them. Two with tanks, and two with small portrait of Gen. Sherman for those who votet for them (hi Jesper ).

Marcin, if you want to use the ribbon I've made (the gold one) just let me know - I'll send it to you. As I remember it should not be bigger than 1kB - should it be gif, or can it be jpeg?

Hi Andrzej
Once again cool banners. There are now more than 50 modellers signed up for the campaign. Lets make it a 100
A ribbon should always be less than 1 kb and in gif. format.
Looking forward to get started.

Dos this one qualify?
Israeli Variants
L-33 or Ro'em - Based on M4 chassis with HVSS.
Soltam of Israel designed a huge enclosed superstructure holding a 155 mm howitzer, also developed by Soltam. A Cummins diesel engine was fitted to deal with the increased weight. Was used in the Yom Kippur War and the 1982 Lebanon War.

I'll be building the Tamiya M4 Sherman Early Production that I've had in my stash (umm, collection) now for too long and finally found a reason to use it.
Although it's been noted for it's long list of flaws, I'll do my best to correct as many as possible along the way.

I am going to build the ESCI/Italeri 1/72 Sherman for this campaign. I have had it in my stash for some time and this is good motivation to get it started.
I am considering to also build one of the Dragon Sherman kits if they are available in the LHS.
Looking forward to get started

Hy All,
My Sherman will be a British Mk. V from the RMASG (Royal Marines Armoured Support Group), after D-Day in Normandy. The kit is the Dragon 1:72 Mk. V "Tulip". Now I arranged everything (figures, etc.), so LET'S GO!
Cheers,
Peter

This will be my first entry into the campaign. I might make a second entry if I can find a nice 1/35 kit at the LHS.
Could some of the Sherman experts out there help me with this version of the Sherman. It seems to be a M4A1, but a late version of the M4A1 due to the broader gun mantlet. Am I right? Does anybody know where these were used? Pacific? Italy?
This one should be straight forward. More to come
