Great looking StuH 40, Jacob. That finished looks great and the size of the shell gives a nice dimension to it. Especially compared to a normal StuG III.
Shaun, great progress. This is definently a unique looking vehicle. Looking forward to see your diorama.

Hi,
I'm just happy to anounce that I've finished
Here's my UE-sWG 40/28 cm Wk Spr (Mirage Hobby, painted with Humbrols, weathering with Humbrols and Tamiya pigments).
I hope you like it:
Andrzej

Hello all:
I have just finished the fall semester at Pasadena City College and can do some modeling until spring (Feb. 23). Yeah!
@ Andrzej: nice looking UE-sWG 40/28, the projectiles look too big to be carried by the vehicle. Again nice job on the kit, paint, and weathering.
@ Jacob: I agree with Jesper on your StuH 40, nice job.
There have many good builds since I have been away, I have started AeroPlast's BM-8-24 and need some help with the placement of the idler wheel which the directions do not give any good shots of how to place, facing forward, down, up, or rearward. Can some one with knowledge on this AFV give me a hint?
Robert

Well this is the end product for this campaign had lots of fun doing it and learned a lot of new tricks and hints. As you can see no weathering effect as this is a static display, so just have to build the base and model cover. All constructive criticism is welcome and hope to learn from what you have to offer.
Now to finish what I started with in regards to my time-line diorama.

Well, since I've built one my own, compared to the Tamiya painting stand, that's a 1/35 Panzerhaubitze 2000. A great beast, but the Revell kit is not top game with lots of problems.Randall made a good job of the kit I should say. Still, I think you should change that bright blue color of the glass parts on the turret. They are more like a dark green/dark blue color on the photos. I tried getting a similar effect by applying several layers of transparent green color.
Nice models are turning out. I must find the time and tackle my Paladin, which is still waiting for its tracks to be assembled.

The scale is 1/35 just took the pics close up. Thanks in regard to the paint for the windows thought they were too blue myself followed the Revell instructions regarding the paint, but your right a little too blue.

And heres my campaign entry guys!
This is the old M4A1 Sherman "Screamin Mimi" kit from Monogram in 1/32 scale
I built it straight from the box with very minor changes and a few scratch building here and there. I know this old kit is a "RIVET COUNTER's" dream for criticizing to the max cause it is filled with flaws and theres a lot of wrong things about it , all I care about is that I enjoyed and had fun building the model
The part that took the most work was the Calliope rocket launcher where I had to cover each tubes rear with sheet styrene, and instal .015 copper wirings to simulate the cables that interconnect them to each other
Weathering is the usual oil wash and then dry brush techniques. Due to the freezing condition outside which froze up my air compressor, I have yet to spray the model with future clear polish to seal in all the weathering dust which is Mig pigments and the lousy old decals which cracked and teared as I was applying it Im hoping to do all this and finish is with flat clear coat whenever it thaws out in my garage hopefully soon.
This was a great campaign and Im very happy to take part in it

Hello Rei:
Your M4 Calliope looks great and must have been time consuming as you said with the launching tubes. It sure puts my BM-8-24 to shame, cant wait for the weather to let you finish the build and post more pictures.
Cheers
Robert

Alright then, this will be my first campaign. Been stuck out here in Afghanistan so this will be a nice change of pace. The model I'll be doing is Dragon's Pz.Sfl.IVb 10.5cm le.FH.18/1 SD.Kfz. 165/1 Ausf. A smart kit. Its a pretty good looking kit so far (already put the lower hull and suspension components together).

Awesome looking build there. Do you plan on doing anymore weathering and if so what? The reason for the question is because one of my other projects is going to need some mudslinging and I am rather new to that aspect of our hobby so if you can give me some hints that would be appreciated. Like I said it is a good looking build nice detail on the launchers.

Got 19 ribbons already and I'd like to make it a round number!

Robert and Randall Thanks very much for the kind words guys, Ill try to post a few more pics when I get the chance.
Randall, I think that's all the weathering I'm giving the Calliope, I'm a simple weathering guy - oil wash for the surface depths, then dry brush for the higher spots, these two most common techniques always do the job for me.
I finish most of my models with dusting MIG pigments on the lower parts, dry or light colored dust for vehicles on summer settings, or darker dust pigments mixed in a little paint thinner for muddy settings.
Mig also has a mud making kit which consist of a small bottle of resin like material that you mix with the pigment dust, but you gotta apply it right away cause it dries fast
If you want a cheaper alternative for thick or caked mud on your model, I would suggest ELMER'S Carpenter's Exterior Wood Filler which you can get from any Wal-mart or even Canadian Tire hardware store.
This filler material is easy to apply on the model and is already cream colored so you can have the option of not even painting it after it dries
Hope this advise helps you out for your mudslinging project

Well finally finished. This was about the best I could do with the limited resources I have. I would have killed for my air brush.

Very nice M4 Callilope, Rei. Did you base the camouflage on a picture?
Great looking Scud, Christer. Nice to see something from you that is not cut to pieces
Looks good so far, Daniel. Especially considering the lack of airbrush. A wash or two would help dirty it up a little and bring out the details. Looking forward to see it finished.

My entry for the campaign finished:
I don't know that I'm really happy with this build. The kit wasn't as good as AFV Club usually are with most of the large parts being warped, and although I've sorted out my vision problems the hand-to-eye co-ordination isn't what it used to be so a few small parts ended up being consigned to the carpet monster!
I tried using a light wash rather than my usual dark wash and the effect hasn't really worked as I hoped.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to call her finished for now. Like I said when I started I'm out in Afghanistan right now and have extremey limited supplies. So to truely finish it would have to wait until I return home which only Lord knows when. Thank you for the comments though.
