Hi john nice job on the jagdpanther can't wait to see the sturmtiger.
Both kits went together without any real problems especially the king tiger . The jagdtiger was good the only real issue was the 500 or so peices for the tracks but they actually went together easier than I expected. I just glued the whole track together and wrapped it around using the idler to make the final adjustments.
The zimmerit was done with milliput and a lion roar zimmerit roller with tamiya zimm rakes for the real tiny spots

Chris,Beautiful job on that Tomcat,I tried that kit twice and I just had so many problems I could never finish it,but yours looks great, just the right amount of weathering for my taste.

Scott, you mention that that 1/16 Tiger slips a track occasionally. i have the same problem with mine, is there any solution? i was thinking of removing one of the track links but i'm worried that will make it too tight.

Thanks, Anthony!
I know, what you mean Certain areas of the kit were a real pain and involved a lot of filling, rescribing...
Some Examples:
All in all, the Kit is lovely detailed, but has some major flaws (the whole nose-section is TERRIBLE, some seams along the upper and lower hull-join are not the best fir either, you have to be very careful with the Airbrake-Section and the exhausts too).
But imho a terrible kit makes it even more satisfactory, when you get a nice result out of it

tons of work to get that baby ready...
The SturmTiger, as you can see the tracks aren't finished yet, and the hull isn't glued too-
The primed metal ammo

John, why are you adding multiple qualify pictures of same view? The white ones are nice and good but those yellowish ones are not so great and clearly jolted. I don't get your logic?

Tuomas, it isn't logic I know. . I was taking the pics and suddenly the camera ran out of batteries, only the day after I was able to take the pics out of the memory card. Since I was trying different settings I got the same angle a few times...

Hi all!
Small change of plan - my wife told me that I'm not allowed to start newest kit from the stash before building one that is there since two years:D So I have to build the Tiger, early version from Dragon before I go to the Panther...
Here are the pictures of my progress so far:
Now I need to add wheels, tracks and paint the whole thing.
Panther needs to wait for some other campaign (or this one as a second entry )

#2 for the campaign will be a hasegawa F-5E Tiger II in 1/32 scale.
It's a lot further along now but I've been too busy to take photos sorry.

Resumed working on the hasegawa 1/72 tiger
The kit tiger is really basic and better suited for wargaming.
I'm using it as an exercise in PE and doing a whitewash.
The front and rear mud guards, smoke dispensers, side skirts, exhaust guards, grab handles,
toolbox straps and some tools are replaced with PE.
The way I've done it makes it a Feb 43 model. So should it be be gray or yellow?
The order for dunkelgelb was feb 1943, but lets assume this one got out the door
before the order came through.
So this tank was delivered to the eastern front and immediately white washed.
It won't be weathered too much (mind you with wheels like on this kit a mud pack
might be a good idea)
Aiming for something like this tank of the Großdeutschland
Top Cats guys. I've always liked the tiger plane. Look forward to seeing more of it.

All,
Currently building the Dragon Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma. I haven't put any photos online as I have built it.
I'm not far from the end of the build and have finally gotten around to take some proper photos to show you the results.
About 95% finished. Some weathering needs to be added and put the indicator poles on as well.
Here are some photos.
Cheers,
Gabe

good luck with those figures. try to make sure they don't end up shiny. even with matt paints the constant touching gives a sheen to the figure, and shiny clothes look unatural.

Well gentlemen, here is my contribution to the big cats campaign....
It is too shiny, i know. I laid down a coat of gloss followed by a wash then two coats of matte but it doesnt seem to have flattened the color much. I also made the tow cables a bit too long...anway without further introduction...
Its Dragons King Tiger w. Zimmerit, kit 6303. I had a blast building this kit, albeit the small set back with the gloss coat. Although when I did lay the wash down, it flowed like a bat out of hell around and into all the creases. I modeled it after "300" part of 3rd Companie/s. Pz. Abt. 503, refitted after losing all their Tigers in Normandy and set to Hungary to quell the political separation and halt the Reds.

OK I can take a hint
You know it’s been awhile since you last worked on a kit, when you find the cat has taken up residence in the box of the kit you are working on
And, yes most of the vehicle was in there Once we negotiated a new resting place I got on with my Finnish Leopard 2A4.
The fun part so far has been making up the bins at the rear of the turret.
It took a bit of trial and error to get something I am happy with.
Working forward on the turret, I noticed that the hatches on the HobbyBoss kit are the wrong was around. So while swapping them over I decided to add a little extra detail.
I still have to tidy up the welds around the lifting eyes.
I have added a bit if extra detail to the mantlet.
I am currently working on the hand rails on the turret side and have some extra detailing to do on the turret top.
cheers
David

Hi,
I'ts time for my 2 cents...
It sure could use some more work, but I call this one finished anyway - it's already taking part in week long show so I cannot work with it now even if I'd like to.
I hope you like it!
It was fun to participate in this campaign! Thank you all!!
