Really sorry to hear about that Scott, are you ok now?
here's the final pics of my own cat, Tamiyas 1/35 Tiger 1 mid production. i will remove the previous ones from the gallery as these ones show some additional pigments. This is only my 6th build so i am quite pleased with how it has worked out.

That tiger looks neat. Make sure to get the track sagging behind the drive wheel
for that authenic tiger look. You can try glueing it to the top of the road wheels or
drill a small hole in both side and use brass wire to push the track down, then
disguise it with weathering of dark shadows.

I think I'll have to get one of these big tanks one day.
As it is I've whitewashed my baby tiger, glossed and given a dark wash.
dry brush, chipping and dull coat and dust to come. Tinkered a little
with the crew too. Slowly they are getting better. many thin coats of paint
is the key to this I think.

thanks for the comment. the track on that side seems to be a little higher than it was, perhaps it has come unstuck. these are plastic single link tracks so they can be easily glued to the road wheels. However i think i should shatter some false preconceptions here- tank track sagging is way overdone by a lot of profesional modellers. Take a look at this video of bovington's tiger on youtube and you will see what i mean. my tiger will be in a diorama showing it in motion, and at 1:41 you can see that the tracks are not even touching any of the roadwheels. it's worth considering.

tracks on details picked out and a little dry brushing.
Exhaust covers to add, and few other details and she's done.
The tracks are horrible on this. The trumpeter tracks are much
njicer to work with and take paint better.

Best wishes on your recovery Scott

Hi guys, here is my Tiger 1 from Academy, submitted for the Big Cats campaign.

Its finished with tamiya acrylics (dark yellow and dark green), and post-shaded with a spray of red brown + black (70% brown to 30% black, thinned 70% thinner to 30% paint). I also weathered it with a wash of tamiya earth + buff + water to get a dusty effect. The tracks are also washed with the same mixture, and dry-brushed with tamiya flat aluminium.

IMHO, the academy kit is buildable, and while I can't comment much on the accuracy of the kit (yeah the turret is wrong; its suppose to be asymmetrical), once done its does *look* like a tiger i guess The only problem I have is the rubber tracks; they are quite stiff to work with, and I have a hard time gluing them to the wheels to get the track sag effect.

In all, for its price its a good kit to practise with. Next time I'll get one of Dragon's Tigers to work on.

i can't comment on dragon's tiger kit's because i've never built any of them but i can recommend tamiya's mid production tiger in 1/35, it is easy to build and even comes with individual link tracks which i have never seen before on a tamiya kit. there is a sad lack of PE though on a model that could do wonders with it.

I finally got photos of my Panther ausf D.

Is it enough if I post those photos here or must I also post them to campaign gallery?

Not the best work for sure, but I wanted to get it submitted. I will be working on weathering this weekend, which I have never done before.
