Camo basically done, a little bit of touching up to go, and also the side skirts to be done.
NB: the hull sides have not been finished I needed to leave some bits unpainted to glue the side skirts on.
I also need to glue the smoke grenade launchers back on to both sides (pesky little things !!!).
The Nato color scheme is really cool IMO !! The picture is overexposed so the brown and green are really quite a bit darker and closer to the real thing.
Cheers

Nice looking Panther! I've always liked the variants of the Panther tank. What kit is this?

Hi Ssgt Mack
It's basicly Dragon's Premium Panther A (late version), but I backdated it to a Ausf. D(late)/A(early). The zimmerit is from Atak. Glad you liked it!

Nice looking Panther Jacob !
That Leopard is looking great!
A little update on my builds:
Tamyia JagdPanther, tracks, lower and upper hull painted and washed. Just finishing some equipment and foliage for that mighty hunter and hope to have it finished before Christmas!!
The Tamyia SturmTiger, I'm working on that interior, seats and ammo storage.
Pics soon.

OK, so I have been back from Iraq for a month, and have started in on the Hasegawa F-14D first. I am using the Aires cockpit, and the port canopy breaker on the RIO seat broke off! I cut the remaining one off, and used the kit part and some Mr. Surfacer. Also, I drilled a hole and ran a wire through for the ducting on the starboard side of the RIO seat. I will take some pictures and get them posted this week! Also, thanks to everyone who sent me items or emails while I was in Iraq!

Okay... a little more progress on the weathering of this Panther II.
I have assembled the left side of tracks and paited the base coat. Still need to weather them. Found a tank commander from an old Tamiya Tiger I kit that will fit nicely in the cupola. Any comments and suggestions welcome.

D.B.M. nice looking Panther paint job. Do you use oils for the filter, I have just started with the last two tanks (KoGata and M4A1) and the effects are great. From a squid to a jarhead, great work can not wait to see the finished product.

Thanks, Robert-
This all 100% acrylics. Masking this beast for the camo job was a tedious task, but I like the hardlines it produced. I still have to attack it with the pigments..

Hey guys, I'm joining up with Dragons KT and a Legend figure.
I've seen the builds so far, great job guys. I have noticed those panels extending of those leopards turrets...what the devil are those? I'm still building my Jagd. IV, but i'll be getting the KT soon.

If i had a £1 for every time that question has been asked on here
The panels swing forward so the engine can be accessed.

G'day guys !
A bit of an update.
The Hull painting is finished, next step is to add decals and then weather it. Once that's done I'll finish off the turret, and add a few bits and pieces that'll wait until it's just about finished.
Not much to go........
NB: you can see a gap of about 1.5 mm behind the front fender - I put the damn thing on a little far forward. I've since filled the gap with some scrap PE. Lesson learnt for next time on PE fenders - dry fit all the bits around them before finishing
Cheers
Paul

Some in progress Jagdtiger shots. The suspension is done exept for idlers and drive sprockets. superstructure and gun are just dry fitted on. Don't know if I am going to bother painting the interior as it is kind of lacking and will not be visible anyway.
just a couple more things before the zimmerit

Well this Leopard is almost finished - a little bit more weathering to do on the Hull (the edge of the fenders need to be dustier, and the sides need some touching up to create a dustier bottom graduating to a less dusty skirt top).
I'll do that tomorrow I think.
The headlight lenses need to be fitted, and the tow cables need to be dustied a little and fitted also. That'll be the end of the Hull. The turret still needs decals and weathering. Hopefully I'll be finished on the Weekend ! Whoo Hooo !!
I'm happy that the optical coatings on the drivers vision blocks came out Ok after all the painting
Anyway here are a couple of shots:

Ready for zimmerit on the sides and lower glacis, still needs travel lock. I am not sure what I should do with the track guards full, partial or completely off. I am also going to put the old style tiger 1 exhaust covers on.
I am so not looking forward to putting the tracks together 5 pieces each x 100 !!! and they are on the sprue so lots of cleanup required gonna need a case of beer for that one!
Hopefully some zimm pics in a couple of days
Happy new year

Thanks Robert,
I'll try to get better pics for my next update - I have 3 more Tamiya Leo's in my Stash it's a great kit
One for the Aussie 2A6 (What if?), one for a kit bash STRV 122, and one for another kit bash 2A6EX I think.
Cheers
Paul
