Thanks chaps, they're all converted DML figures with Resicast heads. I used the Normandy British infantry set as base figures and went into my abbatoir for arms. I've got a few more I've been working on and will stick some more pics up.
Al, just how many jeeps have you got now? . They are looking superb mate!

Hi Karl,
Thanks, I have 4 built and I'm working on 2 more, the one above and one to tow a 75mm Pack.
Still got the Airborne Carrier to build but have not been very productive these last 8/10 weeks.
Had fun with these a while ago though.
Looking forward to the Christmas Hols when I might get a bit more done.
Cheers

Hi folks,
I had originall bought these chaps with a view to using them either around the airborne containers or as a possible Vickers MG crew. One I'm making as a Padre but this afternoon it occurred to me they might also make a suitable crew changing the tyres on the jeep?

My God, Al!
You really are working your way to an entire regt., aren't you?
They do look great, though!
How about giving these guys something to stand on, hmm??

Hi Ron,
Thanks, I only got into this campaign by default as I wanted to do a couple of Airborne troops for a change. Then I got interested in the whole operation and it kinda grew from there.
I have a smallish dio planned for the mortar crew but the larger event will have to wait until the Horsa becomes available as everything will have to fit in and around it or part of it depending on space.
The additional jeeps grew out of the left over parts from the original 3 conversions, I'm still not 100% sure how or where I want to use the last two, again space may decide for me, but the 4th version was built with the Horsa in mind being unloaded down the ramp. I want to add a carrier for interest and a variation in the vehicles but I haven't started on that yet.
There are many possibilitiers in this campaign given the mix of troops and units so who know what else it might spawn .
I still have my Platoon of IG Shermans to place and Market Garden would be an alternative to Normandy and a very suitable setting for them too.
Cheers

Hey Al, very cool idea. Hope they're not under fire while changing that flat. The canisters look awesome, and the engine bay top notch.
It's interesting that you mention Normandy, becuase from what I understand, many of the same units involved there also fought in and around Arhem, at least from the German perspective.

Wow, Al, seems like you're keeping the entire thread going by yourself!! I haven't been able to do much more yet, although I'm debating whether or not to add a couple more figures to my dio (the para giving candy to the boy). I've got another DML para I'm modifying, and the girl that came with the boy. Trying to finish stuff for two other campaigns first though!!

Hi Mark V,
yes, possibly but I think there are a lot, or hope there are a lot fo folks, working away in the background.
Look forward to developments on the figures. I liked you first dio, first time I've liked that particular figure, good pose, he always looked a bit odd to me loading the PIAT.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
Well I remembered to sign up for the campaign .
Some progress on the jeeps,
Added the front bumper to the damaged jeep, bit more work there, needs tools and a towing hool.
Added the tanden tow bar to the 2nd jeep plus a reworked dashboard. I could stow some 75mm ammo cases on the front bumper but not sure if this was done, drilled out the centre of the spare tyre so that if need be I can have someone rolling it along! Hope to get a bit more done today and tomorrow.

A little porgress,
Addes the bumpers, made some small handles, and a towing hook for tandem towing form a rifle clip and a small brass locking pin. Added some locking pins and scratched the tandem towing bar on the rear of the second truck, added an ammo box, some straps and some shovles and a pick. Added the seocnd scratched dashboard and thanks to Derek Barton over on IPMS got a good pic of the correct stowage for the front of the 75mm towing version which in fact should be 4 clover leaf tubes down rather than across the bonnet. Added the positionable steering and the wheels to the 2nd jeep.

Hi Guys,
Well not much interest here! Can someone confirm for me that my small scene is sufficient to have completed the campaign please?
These are the last 2 of the jeeps and pending a source for WD numbers they are about done.
All Six
Look forward to your developments in 2010.
Cheers

Hi Al, they are looking truly excellent mate! Can't wait to see the end result of this one. You've already qualified for the ribbon but I want to see the big dio! .
I've reached a natural break on my figs as I've run out of heads for the time being so I've started the Sdkfz 250/1 which is my PIAT teams target. Is it just me or are DML instructions crap? They tell you to make bits out of the etched metal but not what they are or where to put them. Very helpful. Has anyone got any idea what the two small boxes above the MP40 ammo pouch are on the radio ops side are? Been trawling the net for ref pics of the interior and have come up with nothing...

Hi Neil,
Thanks, from the 3 Resicast conversion sets I bought I was able to make 6 six vehicles to a reasonable standard with a little bit of scratch building. Agree about the ground work!!
Cheers

Hi Karl,
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them and also for the info on the Campaign, actually finished one lol, lol.
Can't help on the German vehicle I'm afraid, but your figures are looking great, I like what you're doing with these guys, they have a good action feel to them.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Karl,
those Dragon instructions are crap and not just with this kit..
The 2 little boxes you are refering to are not boxes, but spare visionslit glasses.
Good luck with the 250/1!

Hi Guys,
a few more troops finished off. I did these for the Paint Your Troops Campain which is good fun.
I still have 3 to convert to a Walking PIAT Team and the Welbike boys to attempt, building those small bikes should be fun!!!
Invested in some Archer Transfers for those in BD so I will have to see how useable they are as they are very small indeed, but if I can add them on successfully they will add a little more detail to the troops.
What's everyone else up to?
BTW Happy New Year to you all.
