Nice looking additions guys Still making slow, but steady progress on my Panther. Working on the roadwheels currently.....all 9 gazillion of them Again, I forgot how tedious that can be. Side skirts are painted, tracks got another dip in Blacken it yesterday to try and darken them up a bit. The bottle I have of the stuff are a few years old and I don't know if it loses its potency after awhile, but they aren't as dark as others I've done recently with fresh bottles. Anyway, still plugging along. Thanks, "Q"

As mentioned earlier, a Panzer II in Italian service, using the venerable old Tamiya kit. This may not be up to the latest 21st Century standard of the likes of Dragon, but its great whiffing fodder I am also buidling this for the annual "1 Week Group Build" on the What If website. Only took me a few hours today to slap it together an put a coat of primer on it. Italian crew member is courtesty of my friend Chris Edwards

Haven't done much else to my Panther build, but I had something come to me while trying to get to sleep the other night, and used the slow time at work last night to put the wheels in motion. It will be another build based on the Panther chassis. I am using the lower hull from the night fighting DML Panther (Lop-O'-Pooh kit) mated with the upper hull from the Tamiya Late "G". I got probably 85% of the major work done to it last night while at work popping tank targets for my maintainence teams to work on. Working on my conversion made the night go by really fast, which was a plus I think this is going to be a cool looking conversion. Until I can get some pics posted I'll leave you with this... Think Flakpanther Pics to follow soon. "Q"

Wow, I go away for a week and things really take off

Andrew I like your tiger a lot, it's quite amazing how we both have a similar concept but very different end outcomes.

Will post some new pics tonight, turret is nearing completion, mantlet/gun barrel is almost complete, just cast texture to add, it's sporting a nice 12.8 cm cannon from a jagdtiger haha, cupola added and a few other bits and pieces.

Steve, that camo looks fantastic, hmm quite tempted to adapt a form of that for my tiger.

i also have another build in the pipline, what happens with a lot of excess sherman tanks when the pershing is rolled out in europe? Thinking some kind of "hunting sherman" modelled after the german tank hunters. What you guys think?

Thanks

- Dan

Don't know if it counts as a what-if project. But when Sweden tested for a new MBT, there where 3 tanks in question, Leopard 2A5, Leclerc and M1 Abrams.

As you all know we chose the Leopard, but I thought it could be cool to see what an Abrams would have looked like in Swedish service... It it's ok for the campaign I'm in.

Centurian looks good. Is the green stuff on the bustle rack going to be a camo net? Again, looks good. "Q" [ ]
I put the wraps on my Waffen '46 Panther. Decided on a name for it too. Konigsjagdpanther Will add the tow shackles to it here shortly, but they seem to have grown legs and walked off at the moment Will also add the headphone wites for the TC, but have to source some thin red wire first. Otherwise, it's done. The vehicle build is complete, now to work on the diorama it will go on. Still planning at this point. Pics to follow soon of my other Panther conversion. Its shaping up well.
Also noticed in my pics I need to paint a periscope on the upper hull...arrgh. Oh well here she is. Thanks, "Q"

Thanks Q yep the green stuff (that's literally what it is called ) is cam net it is a method i have used before and it works really well just sculpt it on and ruff it up a bit to look like camo nets. Your panzer thingy looks fantastic well done

PS could a moderator pin the campaign so i it easier to find many thanks.

Airbrushed the dark yellow on the tank, and started the figure - only just blocked in the colour for now, no highlights or washes so he's still a bit stark. Not sure on the colour for his webbing - green or brown leather? My meagre references are contradictory

Andrew, here's a few pics of the figure. I still have a bit of work to do on him yet. Add the headset leads etc. Also noticed a couple of small holes I need to fill on his arm where I pinned it. My first attempt sank a bit. Thanks. "Q"

As promised, pics of my next Panther based what if build. This is turning out really well so far. Took a clue from my last build and moved the engine to the front. Had an extra resin Tiger I drivers/MG plate that I cut down and added. Everything from there sort of fell into place. Still lot of ideas floating around in my head of what to do/try so stay tuned, more, lots more, to follow. Thanks, "Q"
ps. I also have a dio in mind for this one, albeit a much more quiet scene.

Scott, Thanks for the kudos. Sometimes I just get into a groove and go. Other times I still have stuff setting in the "Needs to be finished" pile that I just can't seem to get over that "hump" and move on. Hopefully soon though. Thanks again. "Q"

Matt-
the FlakPanther will make a great companion piece for you KonigsStugPanther.

I just have one observation. With the engine forward- it seems as though it would be possible to recess the Flak gun mount in the hull. Are you mounting it on top or cutting a hole and lowering it down inside the superstructure a little?

Nice work so far!
