Hi all,

My italeri Bergetiger is coming up fine. Finished off the zimmerit and did the base dark yellow last night.

a) Anyone has a nice pic of Bergetiger camo? I know the one the Brits found in Italy was monotone though. I vaguely remembered seeing someone making a brown and yellow camo one on the net many years ago.

Will be going on to the wash...

Cheers

Do you have the one with the boom mounted on the turret? I made mine in yellow with some streaks of green.

you could try something like this camo, only more subtle applied

Hi Mat,

Yeap, its that "mysterious" tiger with the boom on the turret that no one can agree on why it was meant for...a small primitive hand powered crane on a mighty machine.

I will probably stick to a monotone dukengelb like the one in the photos, well depends on how it looks after the wash, so far so good. May put on some squiggy green camo if it turns out too dull

Cheers

Hi Kiong,

I got my kit from a friend and it came with a very usefull Eduard PE set. If you don't have that one, I advise you to upgrade the boom and winch with some scratchbuilding. I replace the moulded rope and drum with some real wire and a scratch build drum. The mechanism of the boom also has a lot of pivots. I added some round bits of plastic to the end of them to make it look more realistic.

hi guys,

I have been working on the interior of my VT-72B. Detailing is okay, but comes nowhere near the real vehicle. I was thinking of super detailing everything, but the interior is hardly visible through the hatches.

this was all build with a shoulder that looks like this

cheers,

Hi all,

as we say here, an accident never comes alone. So due to sitting and sleeping in a wrong postion for a few weeks because of my broken collar bone, a disc in my spine had moved causing lots of pain. Luckily the doc managed to fix it with his magic hands so I can now post an update on my VT-72B. It's resin and it's Panzershop, so lot's of dryfitting and cursing:

Great projects in this campaign!

Very nice entry, Alejandro. Nice finish - especially considering the scale.

I will go and rumage around the stash to find something to build.

I would like to build the Borgward demolition vehicle for this campaign. Will an engineer demolition vehicle be acceptable for this campaign?

Clearly an engineer vehicle, but not exactly used for repair or recovery. Used for placing a huge charge at a bunker or similar static obstruction.

I have managed to get the drums turned in brass using my Uncle's workshop (nothing like having four lathes, piller drills, and various other metal working tools at your disposal), and now they are turned I can continue with the Bergepanther. Pictures will be posted next week as my camera is with Daughter 200 miles away at the moment.

Well I finally have an in-progress photo to share of the Testors U.S. M32 Recovery Vehicle that I am building.

Now that I have the interior painted I hope to get the remaining pieces assembled today.

Thanks,

Very nice work, Randy and Keith.

I have started on my Borgward, but so far progress is slow. The tracks are made up of a million parts with a million attachment points. Four sprues like the one shown below.
It will take some evenings in front of the television to clean this up. What I would not give for some Dragon Magic tracks

More to follow soon...

Thank you Jesper.

I appreciate the kind words. I hope to get in some more work on my M32 today. I hope to get the interior of the turret (?) done today as well as getting the main assembly finished and possibly a base coat added. If not today then at least sometime this weekend.

Thanks again,

Hi,

here is an update on the VT-72B. Progress has been slow due to several mistakes made by yours truly. I managed to glue several parts upside down. During construction I also found out that Panzershop has been a bit lazy when designing parts, even with the PE parts such as the spare track holders and other brackets.

hope you guys like it!

Here is my in-progress post #2 of the M32 that I am building for this campaign.

As you can see I have finished the main construction and have applied the base coat of olive drab. I will let it sit for a few days so that it can dry thoroughly and that will give me a chance to work on another campaign that I am in and also work on a review that I am writing.

Thanks for looking.

Hey everybody, Beautiful stuff! Mat, the VT-72 looks to be an amazing kit.
Anyway, here's my update.

This after 2 hours of sub-assembly watching TV with the Wife, 10 minutes of hacking off the fenders with a Dremel, and another 1 1/2 hours of filling and sanding the collateral damage from using the Dremel to take the fenders off. Impulsive modeling at its finest.

Nice progress on the M32, Randy. Looking forward to see more.

Charlie, nice start. What kind of engineering beast will that T-34 end up being? Sorry if you have already posted ithe answer to that earlier.

Hey Jesper, I'm going for a mobile bridge. Evidently, the Soviets would take worn out T-34s, pull the turrets off of them, seal them up and drive them into rivers 2 wide. When they were finished, they pulled them out and rebuilt them. Since I've never seen any photos, and they weren't of uniform construction, I'm still debating on what, if any, decking it should have. Logically, angle iron frame and supports with "recycled" armor plate or log decking would make sense but evidently some were just turretless tanks so...

Hi Charlie,

yes it looks quite nice, even though I had a lot of trouble building it. But I won
It will get some paint tomorrow, so let's see how it will turn up.

You have chosen a very interesting subject, will you make a complete dio out of it?. Being an engineer, I agree with your idea for making the deck. Some metal frame to distribute the forces of the load on the top 4 corners of the hull would be logical. If I was a militairy commander I woul try to travel light, and I would source my bridge decking locally, so pine logs would be a good option. Although crossing a river on the tundra would be a problem, because trees would be scarce. But perhaps they brought them along on some artillery tractor. Another option is the bridge they put on some Churchill tanks, with foldable ramps on the front and back. Anyways, many options to choose from and nobody can prove you are wrong I'm looking forward to the result
