It worked.
It looks like it'll be an interesting build, Mark. I've never seen that version before. What's the trailer for?

Hi, Really nice builds going on here, I had hoped to post a couple pics here last night but for the life of me, I couldnt even get them on kitmaker. After reading CMOTs post on posting pics, I realized my pics that I had taken are more than 3mb so I guess they cannot be posted until I take some new ones. I dont know much about these Modern Teck Cameras. LMAO.
Anyway, got started on the Dragon Panzer IV, Ausf G and have made some progress on my build.
Any advice on posting pics are welcome. Keep On Modelin, milvehfan

hi chris
what what i have managed to gleam from google etc, is the trailer is just a
auxiliary fuel trailer, though i question the wisdom of that in a battle situation, maybe they are just towing it to bring it on site, who knows
cheers

Agreed! I wouldn't want to be the guy driving that target into battle. But it'll make a cool model.

I saw your reply after I replied to Mark. Makes sense, but I still wouldn't want to drive that bullet magnet.

Try to compress the pictures down to web page size to load then in the kitmakers gallery. But for posting on the treads I opened a photobucket account its free and easier to work then kitmaker
@ Jasper thanks for the complements yes the mud is a little on the light side but im going to put it on a Mini-Art base so i will darken it up to match the base

The reason for the fuel trailer was probably because the Panzer IV in question is a "Tauch" panzer, one of those modified to go underwater (originally for the invasion of Britain but used in Russia). They probably had to bring their own fuel as the supplies would not be forthcoming quickly after a crossing until a bridge had been captured or built.

Nice progress, Mark. Looking forward to hear your verdict on the magic tracks.
I have made some more progress on my Ostwind. More pictures to come soon.

Here is my planned entry, which will be built as a 21st Panzer Division tank in Normandy as discussed above. The plan is to do a wee vignette, with one track blown off and burnt out road wheels.

Very minor work done ... the basic turret shell is built and that's it ... I'll post some pics as I get a little more work done ... I also have a D that I may try to finish up as well ... we'll see how it goes /... so far behind on campaigns right now.

Sounds like a nice project, Neil. Looking forward to follow it.
I have made some more progress on my Ostwind. The basic camouflage and some details are brush painted.
Next are the decals, the last details, a few washes and pigments and then it will be done. Expect to finish it over the weekend.
Sorry the pictures are not so good. I will take better ones of the finsihed build. More to follow.

Jesper,
I like that camo you did there. That was with a brush? What kind of paint did you use, it looks like it went on very thin and even. Looking forward to seeing the final project.

Thanks for the comment, Sal.
On tanks I often find it easier to brush paint hardedge camo instead of masking.
I use the P3 formula colours. They are originally developed for fine figure painting which gives them very very fine pigments. I can only recommend them. I used Battledress Green and Guncorps Brown for my Ostwind.
You can see more about the colours HERE

Ok guys,
I'm now calling the Jagdpnzer finished. Here it is rumbling through the streets of Normandy
The Dio is half of Mini-Arts Normandy Cross Roads set
The troops are Dragons Panzer Lehr, Normandy 1944
Still need to improve on my faces but practice, practice, pratice
I darkened up the mud since you last saw this as Jasper suggested. Let me know what you guys think so that I can improve my skills.
Boy this physical therapy and dr. appointments are really cutting into my modeling time. What am I gonna do when I have to go back to work next month

Guys,
Thanks for the comments, don't know if any of you have seen some of my previous post but I am out sick from work recovering from ankle reconstruction surgery, so I just sit at my makeshift workbench all day and model
@ Jasper thanks for the link to those paints I will have to look into getting some of them. You used then right out of the bottle with no thinning.
