Thanks for the comment, Greg. Appreciate it

Good progress on the JagdTiger, Jose. A nice idea to make it a "desperate last stand" vehicle. Looking forward to see more

Looks good Jose,sounds like a cool idea.So no cast iron body on this one is what I heard,that's a good thing as the metal bodies did lack detail.

Hi Greg,

You may have mentioned it earlier and I missed it . . . but could you please tell me who makes those snow-chained wheels? Is it Black Dog?

Thanks!

Hey Anthony, thanks very much!

Brian, yep it's Blackdog. They come separate or as part of the M20 set with some extra gear like the tarp on the front and rear deck. The M8 set has the turret gear. I combined parts from each set. Gasoline at Quarter-kit.com I think makes a set too.

Here's the Gasoline set at 7.45 Euro it looks to be less expensive too

I was lucky and got my set 2nd hand

Howdy Y'all
It's been awhile since I posted. I changed my mine on the KV-II as I lost the turrent I had built. I have no idea what box I've stuck it in. But here's how far I got.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to download photos into the forums.
Here is the model I will build. In case the photo doesn't show up, it's a Tamiya Sherman IC Firefly with Black Dog's Firefly Hessian tame camo net.

Have a good day,

@Don you lost the turret?

I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to spraying camo but I experimented here. Next up is the big whitewash

Here's how my KV is coming along so far, have only done a few bits as I've been concentrating most of my time on another project for another Campaign.
I've partially built the turrey, bit of filler and grab handles to do, and I've made a start on the upper hull.

will update as I progress,

Jason

That barrel looks great on there - very menacing like it should be. These KV's look great with a few bits of extra gear on the fenders / fender boxes (rags, chains, etc.). Have fun with that green monster.

Thanks Greg, there's just something quite menacing about the Big Turreted KV isn't there. Up until Trumpeter released their one in 1/35 a couple of years back I wasn't that interested, but after building it, I knew I had to build another. Wouldn't have wanted to face one on the battlefield that's for sure.

That whitewash is coming along nicely, and why do bits just fall off in the middle of a paint job???,...... Looking forward to the finished article.

Aloha All,

Greg, your scene is coming along very nicely. I particularly like your white wash

I've been able to make some progress on my Stug. After going factory fresh, I applied a wash to the corners and details, then did the white wash. I'm trying to put on a thin coat that lets some of the base color come through and I've gone over the tools and such in a "field expedient" manner.

I think I oversprayed on the tools and spare wheels, so I'll probably put some of the color back. Next will be some more washes and drybrushing some white to get more variety.

Thanks for looking and Happy Thanksgiving

Looking forward to seeing more Zon. I think whitewashing allows for maximum creativity because it gets thrown on and worn off in all kinds of ways. Drybrushing the base color on corners and in streaks get some nice effects too.

I started like you did on this T-34 and just went back with drybrushing the base coat color and various thickness of the whitewash. You can play around to get the level of white covering you like. I hope you don't mind ideas - there's articles on this site too I'm sure.

Hi Zon and Greg

You shows some great models with white wash.

My opinion for this is to use the hairspray technic, it is easy to handle with great effects.
For example here an older model from my workbench, it will be the first with this for me new technic.

with best regards
Andreas

Great whitewash, Greg. It looks very nice - both on the T-34 and the Sd.Kfz. 250.

I have finished my Jubelwagen. It is Tamiya's great little kit. I have weathered it very lightly as this is an airfield vehicle and not used in the field as such.

Comments welcome.

Aloha Greg and Andreas,

Thanks for the comments and tips. I tried the hairspray technique recently and rather liked it, but I wanted to try something different this time and hope to work with the drybrushing and streaks for this one. Both of your examples look great!!

Happy modeling

Howdy folks!

Excuse my long absence, lots of work lately… Thanks for the comments guys, appreciated. Started painting the figures last weekend and primed/preshaded the tank. Nothing fancy, so pics will have to wait. No progress since then.

Stephen: Nice progress on the Crusader, the figures look great too. Try playing around with the camera’s lighting options. My photos were made in similar conditions as yours. It just takes some time to find the right settings…

Jose: Nice work on the Jagdtiger. I didn’t know Tamiya quit with the metal hulls but it’s good to hear. Are you planning a Dio?

Greg: Great progress with the dio. The SdKfz looks great, I like that white wash, looks very field applied and convincing. Great work on the T-34 too!

Don: Too bad for the KV-II. It always hurts when a kit is wasted... The Firefly is a nice enough kit to build. It was actually my first 1/48 scale kit I built a few years back.

Jason: Looks like a nice start. I agree, the barrel looks menacing… What manufacture is it?

Zon: Looking forward to more progress on the white wash. I think it’s great to see different ways to make white wash in this campaign.

Andreas: Nice T-34. Is it the Tamiya kit too? I’ve never tried the Hairspray technique myself, maybe someday…

Jesper: The weathering looks great. Nice work!

Keep them coming everyone! And don’t forget Christmas shopping…

Hi Stefan,

It's a nice little barrel from Aber, wasn't that expensive either. I have loads of trouble with plastic kit barrels so I find it easier to get a replacement.

Hello
@Jesper
Your Kübelwagen looks great, good job.

@Zon and Stephan
This pics of my T-34 are only for discussion, I perform this technic because you get an absolut flat surface. And if you make it one time you never will missed it, it´s an easy way for old white wash.

@Jason
I have the same problem with the barrels, my favorit in this is JB Model. Goog barrels for a good price.

@All
Some great models what are showing here, I congrats everone.
I hope to make some pics of my project in the next days.
best regards
Andreas

Jesper, congrats on finishing. The final look has turned out very well.

Andreas - your models look very good (checked out your website too). Hope to see your progress pics soon.

I messed around and started a King Tiger with zim today as I'm famous for getting sidetracked, but I'll put it down and get to work again soon.
