Thank you all for the encouraging words. It was a terrifying experience for me, too. (Starting to mess up a perfectly painted tank is no easy thing... I didn't know how it would come out.)

Zon: Thanks! This is my first time building 1/48 as well as my first time ever using PE and scratching detail parts and it's been a blast!
And yes, it is quite miserable, and being close to the gulf doesn't do anything to help with the summer weather. It was a lot different in New Mexico
I had to gut the inside unit and have been cleaning filth and debris off of everything and stripping down a bunch of rust and stuff. Hope to get everything painted, which it should have been in the first place but never is, and reassembled tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Thats very good Jeremy,I have it in my stash but have hesistated a little because it seems so small,but your work looks fantastic.

Anthony: Thanks! It's actually an easy build OOB, but adding the detail made it a real bear to work with. If you want to detail yours then I highly recommend going with the Hauler PE sets over the Eduard one that I used. And the LionMarc barrel is a must regardless of how you build yours


Alright everyone, the A/C units have been reassembled and we now have A/C again. We're keeping our fingers crossed that everything continues to go well..
I'll try to get the base layers of paint on my Hetzer by tonight

Unfortunately the A/C unit isn't as well off as we thought. Low airflow and frozen coils are not a good sign...

I managed to spray my Hetzer in Dunkelgelb, or Dark Yellow as Tamiya refers to it. I shot it with only the porch light for vision, so I ended up laying it on a little thick which produced a bit of orange peel. Thankfully it leveled out nicely, which in turn revealed some nasty little blobs of putty. Hopefully I can hide these later with weathering. Next time I'm just going to use Gator Glue to tack the wheels and tracks on so that I can pop them off for painting, they were a real pain to get paint around. Next I will paint the tracks and tires, then I can mate the upper and lower hulls together and tack the exhaust on. Feels good to be moving forward

I'm running majorly low on sleep, but I will try to get the the tracks and tires done by tonight. Then I just have the MG, tools, and muffler to paint

"There will be plenty of time for sleep when you're dead" - We are behind ya. You are doing great. Painting by porch light is no easy task. I have to hand it to you.

LOL for sure, and thanks! I've really been learning a lot about what to do and what not to do with this build. I'm almost done with the primary painting, but I won't have a chance to weather or anything else.

Didn't have time for washes and all of that fun stuff, but I finished basic painting yesterday so I'm calling it done for purposes of this campaign. Fyi, the Tamiy Hull Red is not a good representation for a rust color, hence the red muffler.

I'm going to try to source some Archer Fine Transfers for the Balkenkreuz and leave this as an otherwise unmarked unit. This little guy will give me good practice as a weathering testbed

Jeremy - great job on the Hetzer. Makes me want to start one but I got too many started already I like to use Vallejo Blackbrown (dark brown) as a base rust color on mufflers and then add some dk/lt rust pigments dabbed on with enamel thinner.

Stefan - you ran the campaign like a pro. Best one I've ever been in. Thanks again!

Thanks Greg! I already want to build another, I was thinking the STARR conversion from Hauler. And thanks for the tip on using the Vallejo Blackbrown, I'll make sure to pick some up with the rest of my painting supplies this week
