So, as promised, the chart:

Occam, You will need to post a final pic in the campaign gallery here. It's a site requirement for giving out the campaign ribbon I'm afraid.

A few statistics: We have 81 enlisted with 16 builds complete. That's 20%, I'm sure we can do better, right? So let's go for the final run! Bring 'em on, gentlemen!

Cheers!

@Daniel - cool-looking Kubel. You were like the wind
@Stefan - Thanks for an AWESOME campaign - best idea of 2010
@Jeremy - Hope things are well with you. The plastic, PE, and paint will be there to play another day if you don't finish. See you in the Getter Done campaign then

Hey gentlemen, it's been almost two weeks without activity! This Campaign has less than 3 weeks to go, so you better get you a**es in gear!

Greg, Occam and Steffen, your final pics have been noted. That brings us to 19 finishers, (incl. Lakota whom I forgot in the chart, sorry for that!), a 25% finishing quote. Bring it on, good people!

Cheers!

Still trying to figure out the PE for my Hetzer. I really don't have any soldering equipment atm, and was wondering if Gator Glue would hold up better than cyanoacrylate?

Just try it out - it should be ok. I always use just purple brush on superglue.

Good luck

hey guys. So heres the deal, my laptop ate itself, dead, over, shuffled the mortal coil, going into the ground etc. I have finished the DAK tiger I was working on but now am trying to get images up. I write this from a 12 year old Imac that was stashed in my basement years ago by an art school friend so I will try to get images onto this machine somehow then up. wish me luck, I need it these days
Cheers, Stoney.

Sorry, Jeremy, wouldn't know about gator glue, mine is still on the way but should arrive any minute. As I heard Gator glue is more flexible, so the parts will be less prone to be knocked off the model. I don't have any soldering equipment or skills either...

Eric, good luck with that old machine! Looking forward to your pics!

Keep the finished projects rolling guys!

Cheers!

I used the Gator Glue to glue the suspension to the metal lower hull and it worked out great. Let me see if I can get some time tonight and glue some parts together. I'll share my results with you guys as soon as I have them.

Hi all,
After a quite long job-related break I‘ll try to catch up and „keep supplies coming“ to the company of DAK units that has gathered here.

Thanks already for showing all the great and inspiring builds so far!

Here are the latest steps of my Opel Blitz, hopefully I can finish it in a kind of „finale furioso“:

Cheers

Tomek, break out the green! Or is it khaki?

Matt, once again another great installment. Seems to be coming out nicely!

So, gentlemen, we have quite a few started projects to finish and only 10 days to go! Saddle up!

Cheers!

Hi all,
Thanks for your kind comments!

@ Greg: I‘m happy to be of some help. The build logs are helpful to me as well, e.g. to remember which colours I chose for a certain model and if I ran into some difficulties - or call it challenges.

@ Jeremy: Honestly, I didn‘t use a wash at this step. But I tried a new technique using different „angles of attack“ at airbrushing. At first I did a dark preshading at a 45 degree angle from above, after this I did the painting of the basic colour at a 45 degree angle from below. In the end the recessions got a shaded look. The effect looks similar like after a wash. Hopefully my description is somewhat understandable without any illustration.

And here is the progress shot of the cab interior. For the first time I used a commercial product for the wash (MIG). It‘s not as „hot“ as my self-made formula based on lighter fluid:

Cheers
Matt

I won't be able to have my Hetzer fully completed (ie. painted). However I will post pics of the assembly here for you all to check out.

Just FYI, Gator Glue works wonderfully for PE and I highly recommend it

Hi all,
How many of us are in the final lap now? Hoping for a photo finish!

Here are some picts of my latest work:
The basic paintwork of the cab is finished. Next is mounting some tiny bits to it and then preparing for the wash.

I‘m glad that the wheels and front/rear lights are ready for final assembly now.

Cheers

Matty, great progress.

Jason, you better get at it man, 6 days left!

Considering that there has been almost no action in March I'm inclined to assume that another month won't change anything, so if there are no urgent calls I will consider the campaign concluded next Thursday 11.59.59 PM (in your respective time zone...) If you are very close to finishing and need a couple more days ( let's say until Sunday evening) just PM me, so I will know.

Cheers!

Stick a fork innit and 'er done - even posted some images to the gallery...YEAH.

Here is a couple images of my completed Kubel wagon type 82. I did in the markings of the Remke Div. during the Tunisia Campaign. I used the Lifelike color range for painting and I think the grey they suggested to use for the blotches is way too dark. Also note that this is my first experience with MIG powders on both this model and the Tiger. I really need more practice with them.

Just for scale purposes (had to stick a wingy thing in there somewhere)

I also completed the Tiger (early production) in 501st SpzAbt markings from early in the Tunisia campaign. Can't tell how many times I knocked of the side fenders off and had some issues with both gator glue (which I love) and CA during the finishing process. The lacquer thinner I used seemed to have weaken the bond at points and when breathed upon fell off - that only occured on the large parts and not the tiny tinny cable clamps and bussle hooks.

It's been a real pleasure watching everyones build and I really enjoyed this campaign.
Thank you all
