@ Stefan.. I believe the green hues used on Russian tanks in WW2 basically depended on whatever they had lying around at the time. Just some sort of coating to stop the rust for a couple of days at least.

I don't think the life expectancy of these tanks was too long anyway.. They would not have had very much chance to get the worn out look. Basically go from looking new to a burnt out hulk in a few days, weeks at the most!

Hi all!

Well... I use to hate to paint the interior of vehicles. In a tank we have the easy resource to add, inside the opened hatches, a simple bucket of plasticard and to paint it black and, latter, to add a figure. But in one like this, I asked myself... should I paint it? And, if so, how much? This is not an open top vehicle and it will have all four doors closed so most of the detail will be hardly vissible after all.

So here you got my lazy approach to the painting of the interior.

I started painting it all black! No matter the colour you use, up there where there is no ligth, the resulting colour is black -like in the floor!-.

Then I added NATO green to the center of the crew compartment, roof, doors and to the dashboard mainly. And, latter, I also added a new layer of ligther green to the places that will receive more ligth trought the windshield, door windows and roof hatch.

Wheatering was reduced to the center of the floor, radio and dashboard. Seats were painted kakhi and airbrushed with ligther shadow of kakhi drab.

And that´s all.











All in all, now I wonder if I did all of that paintwork just to show it in pictures because it will become almost invissible at all. Al least, it was easier and faster than to paint the interior with a more rich -but unuseful- detail.

Now, thanks god, it is time to teke care of the rest of the Humvee!

Stefan,that T-34 with the figures loos great!. I just agree with Domingo about the grease color. Nice idea the base slope! The figure in my Puma vignette is from Gaso Line.

COOL WORK JOSE.

Man, there are some nice builds going here, good campaign.

So here is my M4A3 ready for paint. The Tank work shops hull and turret are nice. The only issue is with the turret bustle not being deep enough, top to bottom, just like the Hobbyboss kits.

Scott -- hour Sherman looks great. Can't wait to see it painted up. Can you tell me what figures you used to crew it?

Quick question guys, is anyone here using Gator Glue to attach their PE bits?

Got a question. I've been hearing a lot of talk about Gator Glue; what is it? Where do I get some and what is it being used for.

Here's progress on my Sherman Firefly. I've painted a Testors Panzer Gray enamel base coat, then I took different color acrylics and painted different, random pieces of Hessian tape. I'm using the Black Dog resin Hessian tape set. It has its pros and cons. I was thinking of using the Black Dog Hessian tape set for my future Cromwell model. I'll have to rethink because Black Dog also makes a different great looking accessory set for the Cromwell.

Scott - I think the details on that sherman earned you an A+. Nice work on the figures too. The guys in the hull look a little on the larger side though.

Don - why are you using panzer grey on a sherman? I'm sure you've got a plan. The Gator glue I've seen in Home Depot but I've never tried it myself.

Jeremy, I'm planning on trying Gator glue and will order it soon. Check out page 17 of this thread for some experience with it.

Warren, nice job. I would suggest a wash though (dark brown maybe? Not an expert on German yellow...), to bring our the details a bit more. That would also make the pic posted an in progress shot as we require both a before and an in progress shot (I con overlook one, but not both, sorry...)


Thomas, I'm assuming the focus will be the tug, as this is a vehicle focused campaign?

This is where I am at right now... I'm not sure how to proceed -it'd be a shame to cover up all the details. (Not to mention I can't find the decals for the turret.)
