Hey guys, thought I'd join the fray with a Tamiya DAK Tiger I picked up last week. Was out of town and grabbed this on a whim, have built a few of the smaller scale kits and had fun with them all.
So here it is, and apologies for some of the picks, hotel bathrooms aren't quite ideal for this.
thanks for looking, now since I'm home its time for paint!

Lap: Such a nice and litlle vehicle! Can´t wait to see it painted!
Eric: Nice kitty and good work extra - detailing those lights. Why do not you add the PE grills? it´d look even better!

Hi all,
Some excellent work going on in this campaign, it'll be a shame to see it come to an end. I haven't forgotten my KV, just been a bit busy with LIFE. The upper hull is finished, and I just need to sort out the wheels and tracks over this week and the weekend then it's painting time..... post some pics in the next couple of days.

Thanks Jose, Im sure a bit of PE would be great but I have none and there is no hobby store where I am right now. Looking for mesh that will work but so far no luck. Base coat is on, hope to finish up in a few days.
Cheers

A lot of great builds here.
I am a sucker for Italian subjects, so eman, I love the little truck. I cannot see from the picture who produced it. Is it out of production now, or still available?
Also, I hope everybody checks out the finished models in the gallery and rate all of them.
Jim.

This is my KV 2 so far, just need to add the tracks (that I shall be attempting this evening) and some paint.....

Tracks all done and it was quite a pleasure too, always dread the wheels and tracks on a project (unless it floats of course), but it was quite easy, begin the painting on monday, post some pics as the painting begins.... here it is complete

Eric, nice start on the Tiger. Interesting, modelling in a hotel room… Are you there longer or just a night? My trips usually take no more than two days, so I wouldn’t bother taking a model along…
Lap Man, interesting choice of subject. Seems to have gone together fast. Nice finish!
Jeremy, nice start and good how to for the fenders.
Jason, good to see the KV-2 finished. The tracks look great. Looking forward to the finish.
We have now 81 enlistees and 14 finishers. That is some 17%. We have 25 people who have posted at least a pre build and/or a start pic. So I hope some of these builds will be finished before the campaign ends?
Since the campaign is nearing its end (2 weeks to go!), there’s always the question to be raised: Does anyone need an extension? I would suggest an unofficial extension by one month and then we can see if another month is necessary. Unofficial means, the campaign disappears from the campaign page so no one new can enlist, but those already enlisted can finish the campaign.
Any thoughts?
Cheers!
Stefan

I'm probably going to need an extra month, I talked to Konrad sat nite at the AMPS meeting and it looks like he might need some extra time also.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your comments, the tracks were really simple, and I have to admit they do look good. Although I'm just about to start the painting and weathering, a small extension would mean I wouldn't feel the need to rush it to finish on time.

If we are going with an extension, I will make sure to make good use of it. I agree it should be unofficial for the reasons stated above.
Thanks for the comment Stefan, I just wish I had a better lighting setup so the pictures came out better. I also realized that I made a slight mistake and forgot to put on the transmission gearbox cover things (I can't remember for the life of me what their proper name is at the moment). So I am performing a bit of surgery to get those in there. And in case anyone is interested, Gator Glue works very very well for attaching non-similar materials Just wish I hadn't used super glue for the return rollers

Sorry for the nightime bench photos but here's the update. I touched things up, drybrushed, added pigments, added model masters gloss varnish enamel for wet effects, and a little Vallejo water for mud puddles. I think I'm done - just need some new pics after things have dried a bit.

Greg, the barn definitely looks improved. I like the overall composition. Great job!
Okay then, I will contact Gary for the extention. We are officially unofficially extending this campaign for one month. New end date: 31 March 2011. No new enlistments possible from 1 March 2011.
Cheers!

Looks good Greg, the dio really looks good. Thanks Stefan, I won't feel the need to get it finished this week, I can take my time over the process, I'll post some more pics this week as the painting progresses.
Cheers, Jason

UPDATE #6: U.S. Modern 4x4 Utility Vehicle w/Grenade Launcher
Hi!
Well... the image of a Humvee is linked to ground troops easily, that is, US Army or Marines... but not the only ones!
So here you got... my Hummer has wings! An USAF vehicle!
Not so much progress during the week...
About the stencils, those should have been a little bit shorter (in heigth) and narrower (in width) but I only have an Archer dry decals sheet to play with.
And about the fox in the sides, I asked for some help to a good friend and talented modeller and he was kind enough to paint it!
As you may notice, those elements in both sides looks different. I think that may help to give the sense of an on the field paintwork.
Now is time for start the wheatering!
Regards!
Alvaro

Alvaro, I like the mix and match of three different color schemes. Looking forward to weathering!
Not quite, Domingo, we've prolonged the campaign by one month to get some more projects finished.
Cheers!
