Thanks Stefan!
I finally got those blasted covers in place. I can't believe I left them off. The fit of everything was so perfect too, go figure...

I made it! Just in time
I started building my Sherman M4A1 some time before Christmas, but only got around to finishing and weathering the model last week.
The Tamiya model had a diecast lower hull in order to add weight to the vehicle, and that really works IMHO.
Here the model is ready for priming.
And here the finished model is posing alongside two other Tamiya models on my Monastery Diorama.
During the weathing of the model I discovered to my horror that the mark in the front of the tank were a bit misaligned! After thinking about it for a while I decided to add sandbags later on to hide the mark. I hope it can still qualify for the completion of the campaign.
I've written about the construction of the model on my blog here with many more images: http://oscalemodel.com/military-modelling/sherman-m4a1-tank-from-tamiya

Hi, the grass and shrubs have added a lot to your diorama. The vehicles are an excellent choice.

Good show on the Sherman, Occam. Your monastary looks great too! I'll take you down as finished in my list.
Cheers!

Daniel : good progress so far.
Stefan: thank you, it's a bit of a relief.
Well, here is where I am with both my Kubelwagon and Tiger. Just before a flat coat. Still having issues with pin washes and so on. I think I screwed the pooch with the filter on the tiger as there were all sorts of deposits left. I also made my own turret numbers on the tiger as the Taniya kit had the later Abt 501 #'s instead of the earlier types.
Also had my first experience with "blacken it" on the Fruil tracks - (have to remember to let the tracks dry completely to avoid random spots)
Now to flat coat and a a dusting of MIG powders and I am done - unless, someone has some suggestions as to how I can improve what I have - and trust me, I'm all ears and open to suggestions.

Howdy Y'all:
I finally finished my build, a Tamiya 1/48 Sherman Firefly with Black Dog resin Hessian Tape.
Jose: I love that Jagdtiger, my favorite, awesome build. Are you sure it's 1/48 scale?
Lap Man: Great subject, hope to see it in a diorama some day.
I used a Hessian Tape resin set by Black Dog. Pretty nice put I was disappointed a little, my barrel looks bent. Oh well, I still enjoy it.
Y'all take care,
Don "Lakota"

Great work guys! I love this campaign, and was curious as to whether or not there will be a second 1/48 campaign later this year?

@Daniel - great progress
@Bud - that duo is looking fantastic!
@Don - congrats! I like the look with the Hessian tape, the barrel isn't noticeable in the pics

Daniel, nice progress on the Kübel! Interesting approach, first the painting and then the building. Are you using reguler plastic glue?
Bud, the Kübel and Tiger look great! This camo version of the Tiger was always my preferred, even though I'm not an axis modeler.
Don the hessian looks great. If I may say so, I think your model could use something to break up the monotonous green, maybe a bit more lively/lighter color on the stowage?
Jeremy don't know ybout a follow-up campaign. There would certainly be potential I think. I could imagine running another one next year but I don't have any more 1/48 scale projects planned for the moment, more into ships right now... But maybe someone else wants to take the lead on a follow-on?
Cheers!

Is it true the deadline has been pushed til March 31st. If so I am in. I actually have began and completed (or nearly so) to 48 scale Tigers since early January. One of the new Tamiya JagdTigers and DAK Tiger. I just recently discovered these campaigns and how much fun they can be and I was a bit disappointed that I would miss the 1/48 campaign but maybe I didnt. I did forget to take pictures of these two on the spures but I know I have some of them unfinished before painting and weathering.
If the powers that be will allow these for submission I will be very grateful. If not then maybe I will have to but out the other 48 Tamiya Tiger I have and get cracking on it. Semper Fi.

Adrian, I guess "the powers that be" means me... Come on right in. As long as we have progress and finish pics it's okay by me. I can close one eye on the pre build pic. Problem is, you'll have to sign up today, or it will no longer be possible (this is due to the fact that the campaign has only been prolonged inofficially). It should still work today, sign up is here.
Daniel, nice job and congrats on finishing. is the mud still only MIG pigments?
So, one more month to go gentlemen! I should be able to update the chart tonight so we can see how we're standing.
Cheers!
