Good job on the M10 Matt! I agree with you on this site, my modeling skill have increased greatly ever since I participate and post my work.
Jeremy, you better get back on it, or else Santa will take you along in his bag...
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Cheers!
Stefan
You say that like it's a bad thing, think of all the kits he's gotta have in there!
Don: That Hessian conversion is looking sweet! Let us know if you run into any other issues as I know there are at least a few people here including myself who are interested in that set.
Happy Holidays guys!

Nice job on the Firefly Don! Looking forward to seing it in paint.
Just so you guys don't think I'm totally inactive at the moment (which probably is more true than not unfortunately... ) I have a couple of pics of my current state. Hopefully that will get me back on track.
Primed T34 on base and some grass experiments... Thinking of getting a grass mat...
And a start on the figgies, painted with Vallejo acryllics.
Cheers!

Hello everyone,
A quiet time modelling wise for me of late, but I'm hoping to make some progress over the holiday period. Lots of excellent models coming together but my personal favourite is Greg's M8 diorama. But I've always had a soft spot for the M8/M20's and those snow chain tyres and just wonderful.
This is where I'm up to with my Tamiya Cromwell. As noted in the reviews the fit between the upper and lower hull is quite poor. I guess it pays to read the reviews before you buy the kit ! Next job is to work out which of the solutions offered in the reviews is going to be the easiest. More tomorrow I hope.
All the best.
Chris

Aloha All,
Stefan: the T-34 is coming along nicely. I like the setting.
Andy: great job on the Puma.
I've made small progress on the Stug, mostly some washes and a little drybrushing. The figure is base coated, except for the hair, and shadowed on the overcoat.
Mahalo and Happy New Year

Don - it looks like Hessian tape to me - keep it going
Stefan - I think some brown grass mat is a great idea.
Chris - Thanks for the like. Your Cromwell is a build-able kit. Go for it. Here's tips on the pmms review article
http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/48/tamiya/tam32528.htm
Andy - that is an awesome Puma. The gear, figure, and whitewash are well animated. One thing though, that rope on the back holding the gear reminds me of some of my moving fiascos when stuff flies out the back of the truck. I'm not sure what else you could use though to show off the details as you have though (the tarp is suggested by you).
Zon - looking forward to that stug getting dirty
I've got snow on my dio but I'm a little stuck as I'm not sure if I want the 2 dead Germans on the dio or find something else more interesting and less gory. Maybe the typical fuel drums and ammo boxes or something ????
Happy New Years

Greg, have you thought about having the two dead German soldiers partially buried in snow with a light coating of snow on top? This would keep the scene interesting while minimizing the gore.

Beautiful Puma, Andy. I like the finish and the subtle winter weathering. The snow in the tire tracks looks good.
Nice progress on the StuG III, Zon.

Hi gents,
Very nice models on the forum, nice puma, T-34, Stug, etc... I'm nearly finished the Sd.Kfz 251 interior and I hope to follow this project soon.
I hope you like it.

Happy new year to every one
Nice half track Domingo cant wait to see that finished
Although i have finished my campaign project just thought i would share my first attempt at a major conversion with you, this is an old "Fuman" 1/48 Pz IV which i found in the loft with bits missing mainly the turret so i had a go at a Bergpanzer conversion.

Howdy folks! Lots of action over the holidays. Less than two more months to go, so let's get those projects cranking!
Chris: Nice progress on the Cromwell. Well, either you read the reviews before buying or you take the challenge and make it fit! I personally like a challenge here and there.
Andy: Great work on the Puma. I agree with Greg about the rope for the stowage. It seems a bit large in diameter. That Bergepanzer looks good, mate! Is it scratched or a kit?
Zon: Slow but steady progress on the StuG. Your whitewash has inspired me to try the same for my Braille scale campaign entry.
Greg: Looking forward to more pics of your dio. Personally I steer clear of dead people. Of course that’s part of what we model but I still feel it’s not my cup of tea. But this could open a can of worms…
Domingo: Great looking interior.
My T34 has made consderable progress. For one thing it is green now and the figures are all painted up. I will try my hand at grass this evening and hope to post pics soon. Got the new "Let's build Diorama II" book and will try the grass method in there.
Cheers!
Stefan

Domingo - a lot of good work going into that conversion
Andy - great idea and it turned out fantastic.
as for me, I've been unable to go to the shed for much work. I think the dead guys will stay off then and I have a pile of gear/gas/crates, etc (not shown) to paint up. I just need a few nights away out there to finish this thing.

Stefan, it isn't really that thick on the model but I agree it looks massive on the photo, think I will get it covered up with...errrrrrr something lol. Bergpanzer is scratch built mate.
Domingo, no probs, I will as soon as I sort better lighting out for photos
Greg, Very nice, especially like the snow chains and stowage on the A/C. How did you make the snow chains i have had a couple of attempts but never could get it right.

Andy: very nice scratch build on the Berg.
Greg: If I may comment, I think a little snow on ledges of the building walls would add a lot. The roof ties in well to the ground, but the walls stand out as a little bare. Just my 2 cents. Overall the diorama is looking great.

Andy - chained wheels are from a Blackdog set
Zon - I was thinking the same thing about the snow. Also the building looks too clean and needs some washes or something on there. Thanks again!

Well ... my Jagdtiger has received a red primer base color!....
Just some red hull (Tamiya Red Hull + Yellow + Red) and some highlighting effects here and there made with acrylic paints.
Hope you like. Any opinion or suggestion will be highly apreciated.
Happy 2011!
