I want to upgrade the sdkfz 10/4 I am planning for this campaign with a flak 38 (they existed) or make it a 10/5. My question is who makes the most accurate flak 38 that I could use? I know Lionroar has an kit, but I am not sure if it is a complete gun or just an AM update.

Quoted TextQuick Question. Is there a banner for this campaign?
you can thrash me for that one! I just havent had time to do a banner nor award yet. I have some ideas for the award and can kick that out over the weekend...
If somebody wants to put together a banner that would be AWESOME
No thrashings...was just looking for one to update my own website with a link back to here.

I just found this campaign and signed up. I have a Tamiya Wirbelwind (kit 35233) which I know I can finish, but I also found the Dragon 3cm Flak 38/103 Jaboschreck w/ trailer ( kit 6353) that I can use to upgrade the Italeri Opel Maultier with Flak 38 (kit 380) that has been waiting ever so long in the stash.

Hi all,
I have been waiting for this 1 to start my entry will be Tamiyas Sd.Kfz 20mm Flakvierling
It looks like a pretty good kit considering the age of it
I have an extra 1 available for sale or trade (box opened, spruce still sealed) if anybody still needs a kit for this campaign. Just send me a PM
I should have some time this weekend to get started

I've had basically the same build waiting in my stash

Quoted TextMike: Nice choice, and I believe that there is an AM gun set specifically for that vehicle. I'm wanting to say it was ABER or Lionroar, but I'm not certain...
Jeremy,
I looked at both sites and was confused over what might be appropriate for this kit. I saw some pe for upgrading the storage doors and maybe the guns. Just unsure what is appropriate for this variant.
Mike
I know there is a specific metal barrel set for you Drilling because I was looking at it when I thought about buying that kit. I'll do some more searching and see if I can find it again.

Nevermind, found what I was looking for and answered my own question; now just have to order the kits I need. gonna cost more than the sdkfz 10/4 have, but it will look pretty kick ass in the end I hope

I found these two pe sets. The first one is specific to the kit the other is for dragon kits in general.
Eduard ED35799 Sd.Kfz.251/21 Ausf.D Drilling (designed to be used with Dragon DN6217 kits)
Eduard ED35885 Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D tool boxes (designed to be used with Dragon kits)
Still looking for gun barrels.

Yeah, those look to be pretty decent sets.
I'm still looking as well, but so far have only found the 20mm shells for the MG151 guns.
I did find this set, looks to be resin... MG151/20

For what it's worth, I think you'll be happy with just those sets and forgoing the barrels. Make sure you leave a couple of those storage doors open

All ordered a referance book from Amazon.
mittlere Schuetzenpanzerwagen (Sd.Kfz.251) Ausf.C & D (Panzer Tracts, Volume 15-3)
I hope it has some good engine compartment interior shots. Thinking of detailing that area too.
I found this upgrade kit from http://www.verlindenonline.com/store/1-35-sd-kfz-251-detail-engine-kit-2098.html.
Anyone know if this is worth the price.

No engine compartment photos in 15-3 as that didn't seem to change much in versions. There are some photos in 15-2 of the chassis before the armored body is added (though no real good views of the engine itself) and side and top view drawings of the chassis (which might be more useful).

Darn...I'll keep looking for engine images on the net.

I've just finished the Great Wall 251 engine, lovely little kit, some of the etch is a bit small, but it's a great kit.

Hi
Decided to build an Afghan BMP1 with a ZU-23 as used by the various factions.
Going to be using an old Esci bmp1 kit as the base vehicle.

Would you be willing to share a picture of your finished engine for us?

I guess I'll be responsible for the allied side of things for now, anyone joining me? Haven't decided yet if I will build the Crusader AA or the M16 halftrack. Been waiting a long time to finally start on one of those halftracks in my stash... But there is time to decide and for now I have to deal with my 1/48 scale campaign entry...
Cheers!

Sure will, it's unpainted at the moment as I was doing it for a show with some of my fellow bulldogs, but my little Wifey was sick so it never got finished. I'll get my camera out and take a few pics,

I may join you with a Staghound AA if you like, or a 1/48 Crusader AA if I can find it and the AM. If not I may hunt down an Academy Vulcan...
