Jesper: That's some good looking mud. What did you use?

Thanks for the comment, Zon. The mud is a mix of "structural paint", MIG pastels, MIG oil colour, static grass, and a bit of water. Works every time
Structural paint is basically paint with sand in it. It is available in most DIY stores and a 1 liter paint will cost you roughly 10 Euros. Then you have enough paint for mud on 600-800 1/35 AFVs
A little more progress on the details and weathering. Here are a few more photos. Next are some detail painting, some washes, and pastels.

Jesper: the mud looks even better now. I like how you applied it on the gun deck. Thanks for the recipe. I'll have to give it a try.

Marcin: It may work out for you to build the kit for one campaign, and then create a diorama as another campaign entry and insert that build in it. Just a thought
Jesper: Looking forward to more of that sweet weathering
Zon: Glad it worked bud

I totaly agree...I think that would be just fine!
Im in the process of clearing my bench of a few older projects...then hopefully I can start on the M16 MGMC. It would be shameful if I didnt even complete the campaign i started!

Great work with your Gepards guys! Pity you didn't use Eduard PE set. It's really good set, adding many good details. You can see it on my Gepard witch I've done couple months ago. Are you going to make it three color theme?

That set has been discontinued quite some time ago. I have been looking for one here in North America for a couple of years now. The PE made a big difference on your Gepard
Keith: Nice build! I need to get my hands on one of those someday.

As far as I know there were two sets for gepard. One of them is discontinued. But they designed a new one which is avaible on their website.
here
Strange you can't get it in USA.

Thanks for the direct link. That set is actually listed as discontinued and the other one is listed as cancelled...

After battling camera issues and loss of motivation, I've finally managed to complete my entry. This is my version of a Panzer IV mounting an 88mm flak 37. The tank is the old Shanghai Dragon Late Panzer IV J and the 88 is by Tamiya.
I mounted the gun on I-beams below the hull's deck level, my thinking being that such an arrangement might help lessen the effect of the gun's recoil, and made a new deck out of sheet plastic. I used Academy tracks because the kit's tracks had disappeared. A few brass rounds and ammo crates from a DML Tiger and an Alpine figure with a Hornet head round out the scene. There are a few more pics in my gallery if you're interested.

Thanks for taking the time to comment guys. I have finished detailing the Flak and I'll start with the car now.
If anyone knows this, I need some reference pictures of how the Flak's base is ''strapped'' on the car chassis. The kit instructions simply show that you place it on with out anykind of secure.
The progress :

general idea... still need to figure out how I'm going to mount the radar..
Probably end up adapting the DCA unit somehow.
It will be marked as a Cent Twin Forty, 4 AD Regt RCA out of 4 Brigade in Germany circa 1975.
What is the name of the tool you're using to extract the shape of the back of the turret? It will be nice to have on around

P.A.: Typically I have seen those Falk guns mounted on a wooden sled attached to the bed of the vehicle they are on.

Gepard PE set 35654 is really "discounted". My "local dealer" lists it as "availabel on order" and he is normally quite reliable. And after looking at the sets documentation (and the OOB Gepard): It's worth buying and even waiting a few weeks. LOTS of great parts
