Hello all,

I am in with another Daimler-Benz Wolf 250 GD. I build the very nice Revell kit.
Memories come up with this brick... I co-drived this car a lot during my time in the German Air Force 10 years ago.

After completing the first steps I think that this is a really good kit with excellent fit.

Hi MAt,

Excellent job on the truck and trailer, sounds like a lot of extra and tidy up work was needed but your hard work has paid off, you have a grand looking model there.

The main reasons why a photo won't upload is that it is either not the right format (jpg, jpeg, png, gif) or it is too big (3MB limit). Which photo were you trying to upload?

Another could be that you have reached the limit on your personal gallery. I believe uploads to campaign galleries count for that.

Hello!

@ Matthijs: Great work! That is quite an impressive model.

@ Bob: They Wolfs in the Luftwaffe are usually camouflaged in the standard "Flecktarn" (spot pattern). This means "teerschwarz" (tar black) and "Lederbraun" (leather brown) on "Bronzegrün" (bronze green). The only difference between Heer (army) and Luftwaffe is the tactical sign. Unfortunately I have not found any decals with tactical sign of a FlaRakGrp (Flugabwehrraketengruppe = anti aircraft battallion). That would be my preferred choice as I was in such an unit.

Some update:

I have painted the interior with Tamiya Nato Green XF-67 and put the body together. The fit is really excellent !

Hi Gary,

I checked and cleaned my gallery to be sure. The photo is a 2600 KB JPEG, so it should be okay. It gives me a message that the upload to the campaign gallery was succesful

Really impressive work in this campaign!
Dung, that is some impressive PE work on that Humvee!
Mat, like your tank transporter!
Alan, been following your build of the LRDG for some time now, coming along nicely!
John, like the weathering. The Gaz makes for something completely different!

My somewhat minimalistic entry (Bronco's Triumph motor bike) is more complex than I thought. Lots of small parts and only slow going. Here's a progress shot, just so you know I'm at it...

Cheers!

Better late than never, I finally got started for this campaign.

Started the HB Land Rover WMIK at the weekend:

Great detail and perfect fit on all the parts. A lot of detial for such a small vehicle. The engine alone is over 20 parts and the chassis is 8 where most similar kits I've done have the chassis as a singlepiece. I'll wait and see if it all sits level when complete.

Hello. Some minor update. I have started painting the Wolf.

Revell Teerschwarz over a coat of Tamiya Nato Green. The brown patches will follow.

Hi Stefan,

Looking good on the bike. I still have to finish off the welbikes, but I'm looking forward to seeing the Triumph get built.

Hi folks,

Here's the results of the Humbrol Maskol experiment:

Hmmm...

In terms of the 'chipping' the chips are obviously too big- although the Kubelwagon, even in 1/35 scale is tiny.

When I removed the maskol, I used a tweezers and a fair amount of extra paint peeled. I'mgoing to try and salvage some of that (I'm thinking of using Micro Sol, but if anyone has any other suggestions I'll give that a go). I'll be busy trying to fix up the edges with a fine brush to make them look more realistic.

In terms of the maskol, it would be great for masking larger surfaces and it comes away relatively cleanly, but next time for chipping, I think that I will try salt granules.

Later,

Eoin

@ Stefan: you must have really good eyes and a tool box full of tweezers

@ Sean: I am not familar with that kit, looks challanging.

@ Sebastian: the Wolf is looking good, how or what do you use to mask the windscreen?

@ Eoin: thanks for the experiment, I think there is some use there with some more practice.

@ Bob: for the front wind screen I used small stripes made from Tamiya masking tape. The center is filled with Maskol. The other windows are completely masked with Tamiya tape.

Here is my project for this campaign, CMK’s Volkswagen Typ 82 E. I needed to save my sanity and build something straight from the box. This is not a bad little kit. It can be built in less than a day.

Just a little clean up here and there, and she will be ready for paint.

John: what scale and since you state that it is not a bad kit was it readily available?

BOB: 1/35 scale.

I bought it of ebay from dragon hobbys, I think they still have 2 that come with resin details.

Hi Bob,

Tyres on the Chevy are resin.

Sean, Dung, Bob nice work guys.

I don't know if there will be time but I also started on the Humber 4 x 4 Light Ambulance from Accurate Armour.
