I think I will have to join up soon. Should have about 5 new kits out before Christmas. So that will be fun.
As for the ribbon, nice job, but it looks more like a ribbon that would be used if the campaign was aircraft orientated.
So I changed the colors a bit. I hope you don't mind Jeremy.

The green and gold is to denote Australia as is the red roo. And the black denotes the New Zealand All Blacks as does the black kiwi.

Cheers Jason

Jas

Love the ribbon - how about a Rising Sun as the campaign medal ? For the uninitiated, I refer to the ANZAC badge, not the Japanese flag !

If the black is for the ABs shouldn't it be totally dominating a Wallaby ?

It is rather fitting that the Kiwi is on top

Ok guys,
Just complete a deal for a Staghound, not the Bronco 1 but the Italeri 1. It got great reviews @ PMMS here

http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/italeri/it6459.html

So being that is an Aussi site and we are doing a Down Under campaign I will roll with that 1, and I got it for a good price too

That Looks better, I did not want to offend the Kiwi's by just having a roo on there.

Jason: I based the color scheme on some old roundels that I found, I don't mind the color change as long as it's relevant to something, which you have already clearly stated the meaning of the colors. I recolored the original based on your recommendations. Here are the two side by side so to speak for comparison. I'm fine with either color, but I do prefer the red white and blue.

Scott: The kiwi was always there superimposed over the body of the roo.

No worries mate, it's your campaign so you're the one who gets to pick between my original and the recolour I did at Jason's request. Or if you like I could use the original color scheme with a blue kiwi instead of a red one so that it stands out more from the roo. I like all of the colour combinations, and am ecstatic that everyone likes my design

Cheers

Personally I prefer the red, white and blue as it's common to both flags and colours still used on military equipment of both Oz and NZ. The green/gold and black are colours associated with contemporary national sporting teams which to me isn't really the same thing.

I would have to agree here that the colors represent both Flags. Maybe if the Kiwi was the same blue as the circled disk it would stand out a little better just my $.02

I like the original option, the red, white and blue. I don't like the blue kiwi over the red kangaroo though, it draws the eye to the kiwi too much. The red kiwi and kangaroo looks good together, makes a good representation for an ANZAC logo

Excellent work with all three and a close call all up.

I am going to put in my 5 cents worth for the Black, green and gold.

Red blue and white for me.

The Black Kiwi "over powers" the roo in the Green, Gold and black version.

A Valentine currently being restored in Waiouru by some happy volunteers. Currently running and goes pretty quick. This Tank served in the pacific and is wearing the paint job that it wore against the japanese.

Hi All,

@ Thomo, nice set of photos, interesting to see the M577 fitted with belly armour and nice to see the Army Museum taking care of the vehicles and the Valentine still running! This is what it looked like after being rebuilt in 1978:

Just as a point of note for those wondering when NZ used the M16, we did not. It was acquired from the US Army in Hawaii in the late 70's.

As for a suitable banner, well may be:

cheers
David
