ok everyone, I finished my next step...
First thing was after the last fading coat was dry I brushed the model with turpenoid (a turpintine substitute) let it dry a bit.. it seemed to bring out the colors a bit from the fade but not all the way.
then I mixed raw umber artist oils with the turpinoid to make a very thin pin wash and apply to the model and let dry..
here are the results.. I havn't had much success with these washs but I think I am starting to get the technique..
Top view
and a couple of side views..
till laters.

Hi Folks!
Sorry for my very late respond, I had quite a busy time, so
I had not much time for Scale Modelling.
I'm very happy to see so much nice work!
I'll start my project at the weekend!
A sturmtiger.
(Dani very nicely done, your Sturmtiger )

Very nice Sturmtiger, Dani. I remember building this kit. It is actually a quite enjoyable kit. Sal, the zimmerit is moulded in place on the kit.
Great King Tiger, Bruce. I really like the weathering on the running gear. Always a difficult thing to get right on white washed tanks. You did a great job on it.

My first ever crack at Zimmerit. I used putty and a roller tool to make it.
My initial go was with Tamiya putty (grey in the photo below), but that was kind of hard to work with so I moved on to the Squadron white putty (seen below and above). That wasn't quite as temperamental. It doesn't look great now, but I'm hoping a coat of paint will make it passable.

NIce zimmerit,
I'm glad I've got it molded into the parts
I'll post some progress pics in a couple of hours.
I'm (also) busy with a 1:35 Sturmtiger from Revell.

Nice Work Graham!!
What's the scale Mamooth??
I can finally post my tank, build in progress, first layers of paint,
no decals ( I won't use them either), tracks are glued together (I made the photo with the sprue's earlier.)
The white looks very... hardish, or something, that's because of the flash.
So..... here are the photo's :
(I just see I missed a tiny spot at my drivings sprocket)
and the next one (and also, here I missed some spots at the weels, haven't seen it before, I'll fix it it tomorrow anyway.) :
And the sprue with the tracklinks :

Great beast that KT interior... stunning work !!!
Well I'll pick an AFV Sturmtiger if my LHS has the ATAK Zimm otherwise I'll go for a Tamyia KT that's waiting the last 5 or 6 years to get started.
