Doing mine slightly back to front. I'm currently building my figures then when I've done that I'll start on the buildings properly. I'd started a Miniart garage but it went on the back burner. Bloody hate their kits but they look nice when finished with copious amounts of filler . Just finished two sections of British infantry and another section of wounded/dead on the go. I'm going for a company attack (obviously not building 120 figures) with armour on a small view but it should be a decent size hopefully when its done. Got a couple of bargains off e-bay (I hate paying full price when I can get it for half with patience). Still going with the Normandy idea. 50th Inf attacking Waffen SS defended buildings. At least with a year and minimal distractions I should get finished

Jesse: The tiger will look good in that setting.
Vlad: Looking good. I like the red.
Sal: your garage has really come together well. When you say poster board, is it the solid stuff, or the foam core stuff?
Karl: sounds like a good plan.
Happy Modelling, -zon

Sal: thanks for the info. It seems to hold the concrete joints well. Be mindful to seal the edges and test the paper faces as enamel solvents/thinners and plastic cement will likely melt the foam.

Well this is my first campaign and my first dio so it wont be the best. I would like to show U.S Marines on patrol with a humvee. It will take place about 2002-2003 in Iraq.

Hi all,
@Zon: Thanks, I actually was having doubts about the red!
@John: That looks like an interesting diorama, I really like the setting! Where did you get the base from?

Vlad I got the base at a local hobbyshow at one of the vendors tables last year. But I have seen it online @ scalehobbiest.com. hope that helps.
Zon thanks, I plan to start working on it in a couple days a week maybe.

Zon, Thanks for the heads up. As of right now I used regular Elmers glue to hold it down to the ply wood and Acrylic craft store paint for coloring

ive seen alot of photos that seem to show north africa houses with blue doors and shutters. i figured it was a good way to break up brown monotony that is going to happen once i start painting. so, ive decided to put a door in the archway. started work on the door today.
the door is also going to have a frame that uses up the surrounding area around the door. trying to decide on a design tho

Keith: looks good. I like the hole in the wall and the rough paint at the bottom of the tank helps it look old and abused.
Jesse: Nice door.

Jesse great work with your door looks the part what will you use for the handle and hinges
Zon thats the way I was hoping to get it with thinned paint so it would run and when i add the oil washes to get it looking worn and a real mess the hole in the wall will be taken up with more russian infantry coming through it
Sal the paint jars in the back are old empty one,s will wash them out soon so i can re-use to mix up colours in batches and keep incase i need the same colour mix again later
Do any of you have ideas as to what a russian factory light would look like. the sort that would hang from the wall itself,I was going to use one or two of the red LED lights from the circuit board with a tin foil dome over it as a cover and add some cable to run along the wall and maybe some pipeing to the storage tank but damaged around the hole in the wall

not really sure yet. i do know its not going to be really ornate or fancy. will be pretty plain. due to not alot of pics, its definately going to be artisticly licensed. i will go a little overboard with the hinges to break up the boringness of the door. the hinges will be on the inner side with the idea that i have. kinda up in the air on which direction i want the door to swing.
as for te handle, its going to be simple to match the building. my door will probably look almost exactly like this(minus being a double door)
