Hey guys !
Here's where I'm at on my AFV Club M5A1.
Next will be a tiny bit of cleanup, adding the antenna, and then putting on grey primer by the weekend.
I hope to have it in Olive Drab by next week
The Crewman is checking out the progress
Cheers.

Well, that's her pretty much done! My second vehicle, and first mini-diorama (if you can call it that!). I might tweak a few minor things - like the one very rusty track and the other not so!

Paul - good looking build sir!
Pete - congrats on doing some armor. I like the scene you made. I think the left track is backwards though (or maybe its the right?). Anyways looks good

I have seen pictures of real tanks with one track on backwards. One was an ex-Israeli Sherman being used by the Lebanese.

Here is my in progress photo.
Status is after the first pass thru the paint booth.
It looks like I will be able to finish before the deadline.

very nice so far Paul.
I'm calling this one finished, I tried to go with a bit dusty weathering on the Panzer IB, In some places it's almost to subdued for the photos.
I used a lot AK Interatctive's Products for this one. I esp like their track wash and dark metal pigments. The panzer grey modulation set is ok, but I am not the greatest with acrylics. Their Filter for panzer gray is nice also.
Anyways I've uploaded the photos to the gallery and here they are..
it has been a fun campaign... and I've learned a bit more than I knew before.

Nice finish Delbert!
I had hoped to do some more weathering, but my time is up.
A great campaign! Merry Christmas all!

Paul, nicely done M5A1 Stuart. Really like your weathering.
Irvin, congrats on completing your VK501.
Not much time left for anyone else still working on their light tanks to finish up.

@Paul;
That M5A1 is pretty darned nice! It looks pretty "official" and all-Army to me! It's another fine-looking light tank wheeled in for the finish - congrats!
@Del; Now it's all dulled-down and stuff, that Pz 1 looks quite sharp and a really nice job - especially on those numbers! Great job!
@Irvin; That VK601 is really cool! That's the HobbyBoss kit, right? With maybe a few add-ons and stuff? It came out very nice and now I have to go and fiddle around with mine... seeing this is pretty inspirational and makes me want to dive on into it!
Things are rapidly racing to the end, Gents!

OK - Here it comes. I sweated things out and procrastinated as long as I could, but time has caught up with me! It's the final Progress Report for my Tamiya Pz. II A/B/C France 1940 project!
I think I had some ambition to get things done earlier, but managed to be too busy to do anything until after the XMAS dust had settled. But a final afternoon and some evening at the bench has pulled it together... Whew! But, hey, I'm actually DONE by the end of the campaign! What's not to like about that?
So here are the final steps:
First came the numbers - stenciled with Tamiya white - and some brushed-on yellow 6. PD insigs. I added the air-recognition patch on the rear deck as this was a common feature of the smaller German tanks during the Blitz - probably to distinguish them from small Brit and French machines.
Next came some wash with MM raw umber to blend and tone-down colors, followed by some light wash with a mix of Tamiya acryl earth tones for basic dusting. I also painted OVM at this time.
Next came final assembly with tracks on, and a little chipping here and there. I'm not much on this so there's only a little to see!
Finally, I decided rather at the last minute (last night) to add on some "cargo" and put an antenna on - before doing the final chalk-dusting to wrap this project... Some Italeri gas-cans and a can-box went on back, followed by a crate with some 2cm ammo cans and a entrenching tool (that crate became a project all its own- high silliness set in when I decided to make it out of wood with rope handles... about an hour later...! ) - I tossed on a couple of helmets and bits for a sort of closure. Figure I'll do more to that sometime but this is IT for now. The antenna aerial is the classic tapered stretched-sprue... It came out as a "1.4m" rod, when it really should be the 2m variety. But at least I got one on
Here's a "final" pic in the light booth:
And another sort-of close-up L rear...
And that's it, guys! I declare this one DONE. Hope you guys like it! It was a GREAT campaign and I've seen some really nice stuff come along over the months of Light-tankism. It's been very interesting, informative, and inspirational! This marked my first foray into the "current" Tamiya kits, and I must admit that it was a real building pleasure to do this one!
Lots of cool-sounding campaigns coming along into 2013 - hope to see many of you in one or another "next year"!

Tom;
NICE "Kleiner"! Probably one of my all-time favorite little tanks ever since I saw my first pic of one sometime back around 1962 or so! Yours looks very cool and overall very pleasing! NICE job! Great to see one of these show up in this campaign.
I have a Dragon 3 in 1 kit (6222) almost done in one of my project boxes (Nooooo! NOT a shelf-queen! Just put it aside for about the last year! ) and the recent early version SmartKit is lurking in my pile... Actually really want to bust into that one, as the early allows one to do a Kleiner with the celluloid window in place of the MG (I think the story being that the new MG-34 was not readily available for installation in 1936, and trials tanks actually had a celluloid pane in the MG mount... imagine that, a tank with a plastic window!) with that early frame antenna and the tri-color buntfarbenanstricht camo scheme...
I'm guessing that you used the early SmartKit for this build, given its early-version frame antenna and the number 7 - right off the kit box! But you are throwing me for a loop with that added observation cupola! I was under the impression that the Kleiners with cupolas (retro-fitted as of 1938, I think...) had the later frame antenna with the paired mounting posts on the front, and the single post on the rear... Leastwise, all the pics I've seen with the single front post antenna were Kleiners without cupolas! And of course the all-dunkelgrau scheme makes me think "post - June 1940"...
Cheers!

@Gary Kato;
Hi! OK - you posted a bit back the link to the Galleries for campaign pics. It's my understanding that I need to post one or more pics of my finished panzer in the linked campaign gallery for "Light Tanks". Before I rush off and post something therein - do I transfer pics from my photos gallery (already in the KitMaker server), or should these be newly-uploaded images from my computer directly to that Gallery photos site? And what size should these campaign gallery images be? (I generally use very compressed pics in my Photos and for posting in threads, such as in this campaign. Should the gallery image(s) be larger jpg?)
Thanks!
Bob W.

I think you would be tempting the Software Gods by making the photos larger. If it posts fine into your gallery here, then it will work for the campaign gallery.
