I did the first painting with masked camo, now to brush or make a card board shield to a/b through the wheels and hull to match the top.

Bob - looks very nice with those solid camo lines, just like your reference paint guide.

I’ve finally have my M24 Chaffee completed and begun to prime it tonight. Bronco had produced a really great kit, but in my opinion the kit is too over engineered. Just too many small parts and toy like suspension. Still it’s far better than the older Iterali offering. I’ll let everything dry overnight and should begin to base paint the model tomorrow night.

Christopher, your M24 looks great, especially with a coat of O.D. Looking forward to your weathering pictures.

Just have one question, how do you find anything on your work desk? Just kidding Whatever works for you.

Well, it's finally time for another M5A1 update. I finally finished the T16 easy link set from AFV Club, and installed them. Prior to installation they were painted but not weathered. I did add a base coat of earth to the lower hull after a base coat of O.D.

Here's a few pictures of where I'm at.

Here's an update on my Pz I VK601

Most of the painting is done, waiting for the Fruil track set. I wasted a lot of time trying to make the kit tracks work.

@ Irvin: your Pz I VK601 is nifty looking, what kit is that I may have been asleep when you had stated.

@ Ángel: that is a pretty little tank I would not want to be stuck inside the real version.

@ Christopher: nice M24 looks like a clean build, the only problem is your work bench is too clean for my taste For real I want to see the finished vehicle.

@ Joel: are you doing an open top with all the bells and whistles, looks good so far.

Bob, thanks. I'm doing the M5A1 with the hatches opens but outside of the Cannon, I'm not adding anything as it's just a display model for that will end up in a display case. I did do a enhanced interior in my Academy M3A3. Turned out pretty good.

Just started with the decal application and these MB (master box) decals are so thick that they are impervious to the Micro Sol tha I am using . Does anyone have a sure method of getting thick decals to set/form around molded detail?

Solvoset is about the strongest decal setting solution I've ever used. Apply it, and don't touch the decal. You can wick up the excess, but don't wick off what's on top of the decal.

Hello All, Is it too late to join? Light tanks populate my stash more than any other residing member, but I have not followed this campaign until recently. Thanks Dave

Dave, the campaign doesn't end until 12/31/12. So if you can build your entry and complete by then, go for it.

I've signed on the dotted line. I cleaned off my workbench. I took a picture because: A. It's never been this clean and 2. prolly won't be this clean again for a while.

Here's my entry:

Honestly I bought it because it was cheap and cute. Now upon research I find that the TKW II was produced in numbers reaching aprox one, a prototype. Does this fit in with what you guys know? I'm thinking I may want to have it finished "still on the factory floor on the way out". Would they even bother to camo a prototype? If I use the proper period camo it will be the same sand/olive/brown color that my German armor will be. I want some variety in my plastic army.

Ok, it's late and I'm rambling. I'm in. Thanks for the fun in advance.

Hi one and all,

I got the “wee beastie” finished. A M3 'Honey' of the 2nd NZ Divisional Cavalry Regtiment as seen on parade before the Prime Minister of Great Britian, Winston Churchill at Tripoli on 4 February 1943. Hence the rather clean look to the vehicle.

cheers

David, Nicely done. It's a nice change of pace to see a piece of armor clean and not weather beaten.

Nice clean build, David!

Bryan, that is a nice work bench you have there. Looking forward to see what comes of the TKW kit. You could go with a hard edge camo in the same three colors, but with black lines to seperate the colors. Sort of the early French tank camouflage.

I have made a little more progress on my Tamiya Panzer II.
