I'm not sure of the exact relationship of the branding or names myself but a lot of the newer release Dragon kits are Cyber-Hobby.
so Cyber-hobby = Dragon = DML says so on the box..
Yes, rule #1 on the Campaign page is any Dragon or Cyber-hobby kit. I dont remember where I read it but it said that Cyber-hobby kits were re-releases of a limited quantity of older Dragon kits with some extras thrown in
@ John, 2 panthers at 1 time
Im all for several builds at 1 time but I never did the same type of vehicle let alone from the same manufacturer, dont mix up the parts
@ Steph, congratulation on your finish looks great weathering is spot on
@ Andy nice little KT there if I didnt know it was 1/72 I would have thought it was bigger, looking forward to seeing it with paint
@ Marc, thats why we take lots of pictures the camera catches thing that the naked eye dont see, I'm sure it will look great when its finished

Hello,
My name is Tony.
I am a long time lurker of this site, and i tought it was time for me to participate in a campaign.
So i choose this one, coz i am mainly an out of the box builder.
As my entry, i choose the DML Panzer 38 E/F 2in1 kit.
Here the box art
And the contents of the opend box.
I start this kit later today, and try to give regular updates.
See you later
Tony

Delbert..
Thanks for the clarification. I really had no idea. Since I've returned to the hobby, one manufacture using dies from older kits of other manufactures seems common place. Back in the good old days, that just never happened.

Hello everyone,
First of all, you guys are doing outstanding work. I have learned alot from following this campaign. I just started modeling in January. This is my second build and first campaign. I will be building Dragon 9044 Panzer IV Ausf F1 DAK. Unfortunatly my camera died and I lost the dated open kit picture but I just snapped these 2 with my new camera. I only took the tracks off of the sprues and started the wheels. (I hope thats ok) Im going for a clean build with a nice Afrika Korps. paint scheme. (maybe a little weathering). Please give me feedback so I can continue to learn from you guys.

Kevin I love the way you hold the wheels in the cardboard and box. I pushed mine into a foam block that was kinda messy. I'm off to build one of those boxes!!

It is actually something I bought, it is a Mr.Color product called, of course, Mr. Paintstation. They were selling at my LHS for dirt cheap, I think I paid $1 a piece, and have 4 of them. They are almost the best thing since slice bread.

Hey Kevin and fellows..
that Mr. Paintstation looks kind of like a scaled down version of the cardboard cat scratching blocks I buy for my cats..
not trying to knock the equipment, just throwing out ideas.

That stuff looks good, would work great. I use mostly tooth picks, but I also keep old sprues and stick stuff on them occassionaly with sticky tack.

Hi again,
Next step was the build of the rear plate
PE brackets for the muffler:
installed:
And the completed rear plate. I also added some liquid glue to the muffler, then stippled with an old brush.
It looks a bit rough, but thats coz of the macro setting on the cam, it looks ok in real:
More to follow.

Looks good Joel..........two tanks with HVSS in a row!! Glad this one went a little smoother for you. There is a lot going on with those Dragon bogeys.
It is a fact that under equal conditions, large-scale battles and whole wars are won by troops which have a strong will for victory, clear goals before them, high moral standards, and devotion to the banner under which they go into battle.

The last work i did was on Friday.
I have come to the conclusion that making a jig/template for cutting and assembling the screen is the best way. I traced the paper templates onto to sheet styrene and cut to size. I then taped it down and clued the upper and lower brackets with CA. After it was set, i trimmed to size.
Trimming to size was also a problem. I have tried different ways of trying to cut straight , but i always ran into some kind of problem. In the end, i used a metal straight edge with a SHARP razor blade. It doesn't take much to pull a strand out on the mesh.
My plastic template.
Anyone planning on building this kit, it takes a lot of planning when coming to these Thoma armor shields.(etch would be the way to go). Also, as i am preparing to see how they mount on the hull, it is apparent that the layout for the brackets is incorrect, at least on the left side. The Mounting bracket would haveto go over the spare road wheel stowage, interfering with one spare wheel. It looks like most pictures i have seen of this kit finished, everyone moves it just forward of the spare wheel holder.
Here is a preview of the Thoma armor ,which still needs another dozen pieces when finished.

Hello,
Today i did a little more work on the Panzer 38.
I added the fenders, and fender supports, mounted the back plate, and glued on the wheels.
Next up is the installation, of the magic tracks.
Groet
