John,
I like your Panther.
Tom,
Nice job on the Hummel, hard to believe it's 1/72
Joel, Nate, Sal, Marc,
Thanks guys! It's only my second atempt at an oil wash and I had some issues with the first one, I was just trying not to wreck it. I did redo the barrel end as I over did the soot, toned it down some. Here are some better pics, that also show more errors but I'm leaving it as is. This is Dragon's much miligned first kit, I found that even though it has some issues it still looks like a Nashorn.
Alex,
Very nice little vingette.
Irvin,
Great job on the PzKw IV.
Richard,
Yours is looking good also.
Cheers Rob.

Antonio----stunning Marder and a beautifully executed finish.
Nathan----Your Ferdinand is, to put it succinctly, bada@$. It may not have been a spectacular tank in combat but it is still an imposing beast. Congrats on the build and great job.

Ok Guys, well this campaign is a wrap with a few guys finishing up right at the end and no one asking for an extension
Ribbons have been awarded to 34 people that have finished build in the gallery and I would like to thank you all for contributing and making this campaign so successful with some really outstanding work
A little recap on some of the numbers and the builds:
46 of the 75 that enlisted stated what they intended to build 41 showed work in progress photos and as stated 34 finished out of the 75 enlisted makes for 45% which I think is very high for a campaign
Of the finished kits all except 1 were some type of WWII vintage, the 1 exception was Delberts outstanding job on his 1/72 Sea Vixen.
1/35 Scale was the scale of choice but we did have 7 1/72 scale kits
Most of the builds were from the German side but we did have 3 T-34's, 3 Shermans, 1 SAS Jeep and 1 IJA type97. The most popular kit was #6301,Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.E 'Vorpanzer' with 3 of these being built
So ones again thank you to all that contributed, if you didnt get a ribbon and should have please PM me and I will get 1 to you
Do I here a call for a Dragon II Campaign

Sal, thanks for taking the time to host this campaign. It was a ton of fun, I continued to learn from those that posted their outstanding work.
If you host Dragon II, I'm in. My only signed up campaign for 2013 is the Sherman Campaign.

Sal, thanks for giving us a great campaign. There was a lot of great work done here and it was fun to see these kits built up without the AM. I'm game for a sequel, or even another OOB style campaign with another manufacturer.

Sal, Thanks for the ribbon and for taking the time to lead this interesting campaign. It was a lot of fun and I could see doing another next year. BTW, 45% completion rate is quite good as I believe the average rate is barely around 30% and often enough less. So a hearty congratulations to you and all the participants.
I hope that the following isn't out of place but I thought it might be appropriate and relate to this campaigns theme. Just because a model is out of the box doesn't mean that it hasn't got a chance in a competition. This weekend I attended a BIG Southern Ontario model show. I entered my build from this campaign in 1/72 Fully Tracked Vehicles (Pre 1946). This was my first time attending this show and my first entry there. Guess what happened!
I am not normally superstitious but maybe this campaign and the encouragement of it's members played a part in the win. BTW, this was also my 20th completed campaign! Must be some mojo at work here!
Until next time,
Jan

Great campaign Sal! I'm definitely up for a part deux , I like Ian's 'Son of Dragon' title suggestion.
Congratulations Jan! Awesome to see a campaign model,OOB no less, get some richly deserved recognition.
Rob - Thanks for the extra pics, looks really cool. If we have another Dragon build, I'd like to tackle one with an open fighting compartment.
Antonio - Beautiful Marder III!
Nate
